About this property

Settled opposite the St Enodoc golf course in the village of Rock rests this stunning, semi-detached holiday home, Speedwell. Enjoying far-reaching views across the Camel estuary to Padstow from its lofty position, as well as a heated swimming pool for a splash with the family. Speedwell can accommodate up to ten guests in five bedrooms and four bathrooms, making it ideal for large gatherings of friends or extended family. A bright and airy kitchen/dining room on the ground floor provides everything you need to inspire home cooking with fresh local ingredients. When the weather is nice, large bi-folding patio doors can be thrown open to let the outside in, allowing for leisurely dining outside. The ground level also offers a double room with en-suite bathroom and a separate lounge. Venture upstairs to the first floor to discover two king bedrooms, one with an en-suite bathroom and sea views, a twin bedroom, and a bunk room. Speedwell will also soon have a study with a double sofa bed, which will allow for private studying as well as sleeping for two additional visitors. The property has a fabulous basement that serves as a terrific leisure area, complete with a pool table, bean bags, and televisions with DVD players; there is a door leading out to the swimming pool from here. If you can tear yourself away, Speedwell is excellently positioned to access all the pathways that may lead you down to Daymer Bay and the rolling waves of Polzeath, as it backs onto the majestic St Enodoc golf course. A short walk down the hill will take you to Rock Beach, where you can spend hours watching the wildlife and human activity on the estuary. The ferry ride to Padstow's lively working waterfront is a must for shopping stores and art galleries before dining out in one of the many restaurants, bars, or cafés. You can see the lovely old railway line on the opposite coast from Speedwell, where you can rent bikes and cycle down the Camel trail, which connects Padstow and Wadebridge. Visit the bustling town of Wadebridge, home to the Camel Trail for wonderful walks and cycling, independent cafes and restaurants to sample, as well as gift stores to pick up a souvenir. For memories you will cherish with your favourite people, secure a stay at Speedwell.

Rock is an attractive coastal community on the north eastern bank of the River Camel, directly across from the famed port town of Padstow, which is easily accessible via a regular ferry service. It is a very comfortable property and very well equipped. The views are fabulous especially when the sun shines - which it did! The pool is enjoyed by all ages and is lovely for the oldies who can no longer surf.
