About this property

A 5 star gold rated, 4 bedroom house in the style of a fishermans cottage, sleeps 8. Easy walking distance to the Fistral Beach and Newquay Golf Course.

Headland View is an exquisite house in a highly desirable location of the Pentire Headland. The house was built on duchy land under the supervision of Prince Charles and the Duchy of Cornwall reflecting the theme of a Cornish fishing village.

Internally, the property features solid oak flooring throughout, and has been tastefully designed and finished by the design team at Laura Ashley, using high quality furnishings to reflect the colours of the sea whilst retaining the charm of a fisherman’s cottage complete with an orangery which will be available from June 2016.

Externally, the spacious, enclosed gardens and sun deck surround the cottage, offering space to sunbathe and dine al fresco, making use of the Jamie Oliver swing barbeque, or unwind in the elevated hot tub or luxury swim spa with sea views. From the gardens you can take in the relaxing sounds of the sea lapping against the exposed coastline, and enjoy views over the sea to the Headland Hotel.

Newquay’s premier surfing beach, Fistral, is just 300 metres away, and is easily accessible by a gentle three minute walk. This close proximity to Fistral Beach makes it easy for friends and families to carry surfboards, picnics and beach gear to the beach, so there is no need to drive.

Equally accessible is the River Gannel tidal estuary, an area popular with bird watchers and anglers. The beauty and tranquillity of the area makes and ideal setting for romantic walks and picnicking.

Whilst in the area, why not enjoy a round at one of the finest links courses in the South West, Newquay Golf Course. For those looking for an adrenaline rush, a visit to the Lusty Glaze Adventure Centre is a must, where activities on offer include rock climbing, abseiling and coasteering.

After an exhausting day of surfing or exploring, it’s time to satisfy the taste buds and with an excellent choice of food on offer, from beach front cafés to continental style brasseries, there really are gastronomic options to suit all occasions and tastes. For a special treat, head to one of the exclusive restaurants in the area, such as Jamie Oliver's Fifteen Cornwall, and indulge in some of the finest decadent delights the South West has to offer.

This property especially welcomes families.  A cot and highchair is provided along with a baby bath and steriliser.  For older children there are books and a Wii games console.

We very much enjoyed our stay, the house was fantastic and in a great location. We all had a great time on the nearby Fistral Beach, as well as further up the coast. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our time here - a great holiday.

  • We all loved our stay in this house, perfect walking distance from the beach and the town, plenty to do without driving. We recommend the quicksilversurf school near the beach - 6 of us £25 pp for 2 12 hours brilliant fun for all ages! Lots of family pubs in town and nice places to eat and drink. Sailors pub/bar is a must and Little Italy is great for pizza (make sure you book) the place itself has been lovely. Great facilities though which made an amazing family holiday, would definitely come again and recommend to others, we are all sad to leave!
