The historic fishing village of Padstow is only 15 miles, famed for incredible seafood eateries and independent boutiques. Slightly further afield and all within 20 miles is the famous Eden Project, the city of Truro with a guided tour of Truro Cathedral available, Bissoe with a cycling and walking trail which crosses from Portreath on the north coast to Devoran on the south coast of Cornwall, Wadebridge with its 18 mile Camel Trail, and endless National Trust properties including Trelissick and Trerice.
