About this property

Enveloped by ten acres of pretty gardens and grounds is The Dairy, a single-storey cottage offering an idyllic base in one of the most exceptional locations in Cornwall, nestled between Newquay and St Austell. Situated just moments away from the village of Summercourt and within close reach of the A30 intersection, The Dairy has been designed with a family in mind, perfect for those seeking a place to call home as they enjoy all that Cornwall has to offer. Push open the stable door to discover the open-plan living room, boasting a country-style kitchen with painted cabinets, topped with wooden countertops, housing everything you could possibly need for a family holiday. As you continue around the room, the inviting sitting area is revealed, with the woodburning stove sitting in the original inglenook fireplace; the focal point of this room. The high ceilings are a striking element to this room and the picture windows affords a constant connection with the outside in, with the seating arrangement making a cosy spot for tuning into the TV, with the tranquil crackle of the woodburning stove in the background. Return to the hallway and take a left into the first bedroom, consisting of twin beds, decorated with several touches of a nautical theme and its own en-suite shower room. Concluding the interior is the master bedroom, where a sumptuous super kingsize bed awaits you after a bracing day along the coastline and an en-suite, where you can savour a relaxing moment in the bathtub. Summer afternoons can be spent within the luscious gardens, where patio and chairs are positioned for enjoying the company of family and friends, as something sizzles on the barbecue. Guests are also welcome to explore much of the ten acres of beautiful grounds, perfect for an evening stroll or allowing your canine companions to stretch their legs. If you can tear yourself away from this pretty oasis, venture into the village of Summercourt, where you will find a shop for picking up the essentials and a pub, while even more amenities can be found within the surrounding area. Beachcombers and families can look forward to a scenic drive west to Newquay, where you can sample excellent rolling surf on the famous Fistral Beach with opportunities for lessons, board hire and wet suits if you do not have your own! The seaside resort also plays host to a number of family-friendly attractions, including Blue Reef Aquarium and Newquay Zoo, the picturesque boating lake and Newquay Golf Club. Avid ramblers can take a walk along the breath-taking South West Coastal Path, with the pretty village of Crantock awaiting to be discovered, home to the lesser-known shores of Crantock Beach to enjoy. Venture further afield to visit the iconic attractions of Lost Gardens of Heligan and Eden Project, as well as the busting town of St Austell, or closer to home you will find the historic Tudor 16th century manor house of Trerice. With St Ives, Penzance and Truro also within easy reach, The Dairy is an exceptional self-catering cottage for that long-awaited holiday to Cornwall. Note: This property can be booked with Ref. 1061273, together sleeping up to six people.

Summercourt is a small village resting within the popular county of Cornwall, between Newquay and St Austell, and is close to the A30 intersection which can give you easy access to both of these coastal towns. The village plays host to Summercourt Fair, which has been going for more than 800-years, as well as two pubs, a village store and Post Office. Newquay is within close reach, boasting a glorious beach and is popular with surfers.

Paul our host was friendly and attentive. Superb accommodation and can’t recommend it enough.

Although we had initially been disappointed as we couldn’t find suitable accommodation at the coast, The Dairy appealed to us due to the extensive & beautiful gardens. From the first day we realised that being inland was, in fact, a blessing. An oasis of cool tranquility away from the crowds at the coast. Perfect.
