Beaches is a well-loved holiday cottage in Newquay, Cornwall, praised for its superb location, comfortable furnishings, and spaciousness. Guests have enjoyed its proximity to the beach and local amenities, making it ideal for groups and families. While some maintenance issues have been noted, the overall experience has been positive, with many guests looking forward to returning.

Guests that stayed at this property said

The property generally appears to be clean, but several reviews mention dust and a lack of thorough cleaning. There are also repeated mentions of mould, which suggests room for improvement in this area.

The location is consistently praised for being close to the beach and local attractions, making it an ideal spot for holidaymakers looking to enjoy Newquay's offerings.

Guests find the beds extremely comfortable and the house spacious. However, some have noted that the sofas are not as comfortable for the number of guests and that the house can feel damp, which may affect overall comfort.

Facilities like showers and bedding are highly regarded, but there are several mentions of maintenance issues such as mould, broken locks, and the need for better lighting and curtains. These issues indicate that while the facilities are good, they require attention.

There is no specific mention of gifts or extra touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the property owners. Therefore, this category cannot be scored.

About this property

Beaches is a beautiful spacious bungalow appointed to a very high standard, standing in it’s own gardens on a quiet street and yet ideally positioned close the centre of Newquay (just five minutes walk) with its full range of amenities (bars, restaurants, shops, etc). With the exception of the fifth bedroom, the whole property is distributed over the ground floor, making this property also suitable for wheelchair users. The ground floor comprises of four beautiful contemporary styled bedrooms (one super king which can also be split into twin beds, a further king and two double beds) all with their own TVs and ensuite shower rooms with luxury fittings, the main bedroom ensuite (with bath) doubling up as the main bathroom, having access from the hallway as well as the main bedroom (fitted with a ‘Jack & Jill’ locking system). One of the double rooms facing the private rear garden has it’s own patio doors opening on to a decked private balcony where you can relax, enjoy the sun and tranquil surroundings with a cool drink or a cup of tea! The fifth bedroom (twin beds) can be found on the first floor and is an ideal ‘hideaway’ bedroom for the kids, but also, as it is very spacious, is suitable for adults. This room has no ensuite but has use of the main bathroom. Back on the ground floor, to the rear is the very spacious fully equipped contemporary open plan kitchen, dining area and lounge designed as a space for the family to socialise and enjoy nights in dining, and perhaps watching some TV. This area has easy access via the patio doors to the private rear garden with a large spacious decked area and equipped with ample furniture to enjoy the sun during the day and ‘al fresco’ dining in the evening! The garden is enclosed and so very safe for the children. Beaches named so because it’s very close to….the beaches! Tolcarne, Great Western and Towan being around five minutes walk, Lusty Glaze 15 minutes walk, Porth 30 minutes walk and Fistral around 10 minutes drive. Newquay Zoo is a five minute walk. To summarize, Beaches is situated in a quiet area and yet close to the centre of Newquay and several of Newquays beaches. Appointed to a very high standard, it is ideally suited to families and adult groups alike. Beaches has a ‘no pets’ and ‘no smoking’ policy.

Centrally located. Did loose tv signal, it was fixed the same day as reported. Clean, modern, more than enough room for our party of 8. Parked 3 cars on drive. Garden good size with a barbecue. Different levels in the garden, so need to watch toddlers. Visited Newquay zoo and crazy golf (worth a visit), just a short walk from property. Choice of beaches a short walk. Large range of shops again a short walk away. Train station walking distance.

The showers are to die for after a hard days work. The sofa is so comfy you struggle to get out of it. All the rooms have everything you need. They also left us extra keys to use which was great. We hope to be back half term next year. Matt

The house however smells of damp and clothing hung in two bedrooms were physically damp despite us having the heating on. The house smelt damp from the moment you walk in. We have seen the reviews saying the same and previous comments from the owners to state it has been tested and all ok.
