Cedar Lodge in Cornwall receives high praise for its peaceful farm location, stunning views, and dog-friendly environment. Guests appreciate the well-equipped property, the secure garden, and the warm welcome from the owners, Jan and Ray. The homemade treats are a delightful touch. Despite some concerns about the accuracy of the location description and access via narrow roads, the overall sentiment is extremely positive, with many guests looking forward to returning.
The lodge is consistently described as extremely clean and spotless, indicating meticulous maintenance and attention to cleanliness by the owners.
The location is praised for its tranquility and stunning views, though there is a minor concern about the accuracy of the property's advertised proximity to Looe and the condition of the access roads.
Guests find the accommodation to be comfortable, with a spacious living area and a private garden. The presence of a log burner adds to the cosy atmosphere, although there is a mention of additional costs for logs.
The property is lauded for being well-equipped and thoughtfully furnished, with special mentions of the kitchen's amenities. However, there are minor notes on dated outdoor furniture and the layout of indoor furniture.
The owners are frequently commended for their thoughtfulness, particularly for the welcome treats such as homemade cakes and scones. While these gestures are highly appreciated, it is important to note that such personal touches, though common, are not guaranteed with every stay.
Breathtakingly beautiful countryside, this fabulous barn conversion offer excellent accommodation near the Cornish towns of Liskeard and Looe, South East Cornwall. This peaceful setting with easy access to the stunning coastline makes this property a perfect choice for a family holiday with a touch of luxury. Vaulted ceilings, exposed beams and trusses, bi-fold doors spanning the length of one wall the sitting area is an absolute dream. If you can raise yourself from the comfy sofas you will find everything you need in the super stylish kitchen. On the ground floor you will also find two elegantly dressed twin bedrooms and it's upstairs to the pretty master bedroom which benefits from an en-suite and dual aspect windows so that you wake to the views.
With 88 acres of farmland and detached from the owners farmhouse, guests can explore the scenic pastures and woodlands and take a stroll along the pretty footpaths. The seaside town of Looe is just a short drive away where you can watch the day's catch being auctioned on the quay, don't forget to pick some up for your evening meal. Work your way through the winding streets and browse the shops on your way to the beach. A visit to Looe Museum will provide an insight into smuggling with its collection of memorabilia or maybe a trip to the Monkey Sanctuary, where you can see apes and monkeys that have been rescued from all over the world.
The Cornish Riviera is renowned for its beaches and picturesque fishing villages, Polperro Bay and Talland Bay are within easy reach and the coastal path between Looe and Polperro is a must for keen walkers. Thoughtfully designed and furnished with flair, this barn provides the perfect holiday for those seeking excellent accommodation for a relaxing family holiday.
Looe,9 miles, is Cornwalls second largest fishing port and hence there is always a lively maritime bustle around the quay area of East Looe, which is connected to the quieter West Looe by a seven arched 19th century bridge over the River Looe. You can also catch the river taxi between East and West Looe. East Looe has narrow cobbled streets, twisting alleyways and plenty of tourist shops, whilst West Looe has a lovely outlook across the harbour. Looes viewpoint, Banjo Pier, can be reached from the quay and is a great spot to watch the returning fishing trawlers and look across the bay to Looe Island, which can be walked to occasionally at very low tides. The sandy Looe beach adjoins the pier and is very popular with families because of its safe shallow swimming and vast expanse of sand. There is also a great rock pool area at Hannafore that children will love. West Looe has a discovery centre, and the delightful Kilminorth Woods have way marked walks through the majestic oak wood, rich in plant, insect and bird life. Apart from beachy activities in this part of south east Cornwall, there are many mining remains on Bodmin Moor and in the Tamar Valley, and much of the mining landscape has World Heritage status. This area of Cornwall has inspired writers, such as Daphne du Maurier and much of Bodmin Moor has inspired legends linked with King Arthur. There is much to explore in this beautiful part of Cornwall.

The furnishings were very tasteful and comfortable for all. It was just perfect, with fantastic facilities in a truly beautiful setting in the countryside. We honestly could not have wished for anything better! It had an âaway from it allâ feel about it. You definitely need a car to stay here but my word you wonât be disappointed! Upon arrival we were welcomed with the most amazing home made scones (complete with clotted cream and jam) and a delicious fresh cream Victoria Sandwich - this all went down a treat for sure. This place is just delightful and I wouldnât hesitate to stay here again! The facilities were outstanding, with all the kitchen utensils and crockery you could ever wish for! Our dog had his first holiday here so now has high expectations for every future holiday! He had a superb time with all of the gardens and countryside on his doorstep! The garden was beautiful and we were all very sad to have to go home after our week long holiday.

. On arrival there was a homemade Victoria Sandwich cake and a basket of homemade scones to welcome us including jam and clotted cream plus milk and teabags. Such a lovely touch. Loads of places to visit locally. The owner lives next door there if needed but not intrusive. Fountain of knowledge of places to visit. Highly recommend Cedar Lodge. Dogs loved the enclosed garden.
