Railway Cottage, as the name would suggest, lies right at the end of the platform of the enchanting narrow gauge steam railway in the heart of Launceston. The railway is run by the owners of the cottage. There is a lovely ambiance and traditional cottage style throughout the property, ideal for those who enjoy simplicity. The galley-style kitchen offers a dual-aspect making the most of the natural light, with a lovely feature window and views out over the courtyard and steam railway. The newly refurbished dining room with its window seat makes an ideal place to eat a tasty meal and get together after a day out exploring. The lounge is cosy an ideal spot to relax in and in summer you can open the door to the patio. The ground floor is complete with a family bathroom and a separate cloakroom in addition, for your convenience. Climb the traditional cottage-style staircase to the bedrooms, minding your head on the way up, and find two lovely bedrooms. The king-size double has a wooden floor, bedside tables, a feature fireplace and views out over the railway track. There is also a twin room, ideal for those travelling with children. Outside you can sit on the patio and enjoy a drink as the trains go by. can enjoy a free ride along the track if you wish.

There is an outside storage rooms for surf boards and bikes.Adjacent to the cottage is the railway shop and the vegetarian station café and further into the town are many shops, pubs and eateries. Launceston used to be the capital of Cornwall. The Castle stands proud over looking the town.A day out can be spent at the Tamar Otter Park, walking on Bodmin Moor or Dartmoor or riding the railway through the stunning Kensey Valley. You can also venture to the coast and visit the villages of Port Issac, and Tintagel. For those wishing to surf the beaches of Widemouth Bay and Summerleaze are within a 18 mile radius. The City of Plymouth steeped in History is only 30 mins away across the Tamar Bridge, Whatever you choose to do, enjoy a well-earned break with the family. Parking for two small cars in the allocated parking area opposite the property or one large one

The town of Launceston, situated on the Devon and Cornwall border, has wonderful architecture, including some fine Georgian buildings in the central square, and is dominated by the ruins of a Norman castle sitting high above the town. Visit the Tamar Otter Park just 3 miles away or take a trip on the steam train from Launceston through the beautiful Kensey Valley on a 5-mile round trip. Launceston is within driving distance of the seaside resorts of Bude and Padstow to the north, and Plymouth to the south, as well as the stunning Bodmin Moor and Dartmoor. A superb base for exploring Cornwall and Devon.
