About this property

Offering guests a superb location in Lanhydrock, The Granary is the perfect destination for those looking to either completely unwind away from a busy lifestyle or to be thoroughly immersed in outdoor adventure. Nestled within sprawling countryside in a semi-rural setting, this beautiful cottage with its cosy atmosphere and original features, offers couples and small families a fantastic base from which to explore an abundance of walking and cycle paths in the area, as well as its nearby towns and wonderful coastline.

Inside, the kitchen and dining area are open plan with the living room where a sofa and armchairs, arranged around the wood-burning stove, create a charming space to relax in. Exposed roof timbers and original stone walls nod to the cottage’s past, and a large TV provides entertainment on chillier days spent indoors. Two delightful upstairs bedrooms (both with wall-mounted flat screen TV’s) as well as a modern family bathroom means plenty of space for either two couples or a small family of four, while outside there’s a courtyard with outdoor furniture, a BBQ and a hot tub.

With over 900 acres of parkland, the National Trust’s estate at Lanhydrock is within easy reach of the cottage and bursts with woodland walks, cycle trails, riverside paths and gardens. A magnificent Victorian family home, owned by the National Trust, rests at its heart and offers visitors a peek into the lifestyle of a bygone era, with a lovely restaurant and tearoom being just the place to enjoy brunch or an afternoon pot of tea and a scone. A truly family-friendly experience, there are numerous spots for enjoying a picnic among the seasonal blooms, and children can run free and burn off their energy in the park.
