About this property

Resting on the outskirts of Gweek in an idyllic hamlet, is Zephyr, a contemporary three-bedroom cottage, inviting six guests. Enjoying far-reaching countryside views and a private multi-level garden, whilst offering a stylish open-plan living space, flexible sleeping arrangements, and a homely first-floor snug, the property delivers the ideal base for a family or group of friends looking to explore Southern Cornwall. The property also benefits from being very family-friendly, with a range of infant and toddler supplies provided on request including a stairgate, highchair, and a cot. Park up on the private driveway before entering the light flooded living space, ideal for using as your social hub, where you can prepare delicious meals, dine as a group, and relax upon the plush corner sofa with direct views out to the garden. If you'd prefer to dine alfresco, head outdoors to take advantage of your peaceful surroundings, or on colder evenings, venture to the first floor where you'll find a dedicated snug area, ready to snuggle up and enjoy a film night. As the night unfolds, select between one of three ground-floor bedrooms, all well-presented and offering ample storage, including a king-size with en-suite and two doubles (zip/links which can be arranged as twin or super-king-size), along with a ground-floor family bathroom. If you can tear yourself away, you will find a good selection of amenities and attractions in nearby Gweek, where you can sample your favourite tipple at The Black Swan, enjoy hearty breakfasts at The Boatyard Café, dine at Moon Bay Chinese restaurant, embark on outdoor explorations with Immerse Outdoors, which include paddle boarding, kayaking, and canoeing along the Helford River, or visit the sweet animals at the Cornish Seal Sanctuary. Continue onto Penrose, a National Trust site, where you can enjoy leisurely strolls whilst soaking up the gorgeous views, hire a bike to make your way around Loe Pool, enjoy sweet treats and light bites at the Lakeside Café, treat the little ones to an afternoon of fun at the playgrounds, skate park, or hop aboard a pedalo and cruise around the boating lake during the summer months, or participate in a park run. Next stop is Porthleven, where you can tuck into fresh seafood with a view at Amélie or dine alfresco at Mussel Shoal, stroll along the harbour with an ice cream in hand from Nauti But Ice, embark on a boat trip to hook your catch of the day or spot the local marine life, enjoy a refreshing swim in the protected harbour, thrilling jums off the middle harbour wall at high tide, spend an afternoon at Porthleven Beach or hike along the stunning Porthleven Cliffs. You can continue the beach-side fun at the popular beaches of Porthcew and Polurrian Beaches, as well as Church Cove, well-known for its appearance on the hit TV series, Poldark, where you will also find the Dan Joel Surf School, a great selection of cafes, facilities, family-friendly streams, and an ideal spot for enjoying grilled delights on a portable barbecue as the sun sets. Zephyr's location as the entry point to the Lizard Peninsula, the southerly tip of mainland Britain, means that you can easily access the area's magnificent cliff scenery, uncommon wildflowers, and fascinating coastal history on foot. Be drawn to Kynance Cove, with its sandy beach and islets of serpentine stone, attracting a wealth of visitors since Victorian times. Your new home from home is ideally located for taking day trips to Cornwall’s most popular attractions, from the beautiful St Michael’s Mount in Marazion, the Eden Project near St Austell, the stunning shores of Carbis Bay, Zennor and the landmark Lands End in Sennen. To experience the best of Cornwall, look no further than Zephyr.

On the fringe of the Lizard Heritage Coast in Cornwall, the civil parish and village of Gweek are situated at the head of the Helford River. Gweek is a peaceful home base for a staycation because it's close to the gorgeous trails and beaches of the Lizard peninsula as well as the thriving towns of Helston, Porthleven, and Falmouth. Gweek is well-equipped for a self-catered holiday, serving guests delectable meals at the quaint pub and B&B of The Black Swan, as well as providing a post office & convenience store. Furthermore, Gweek has access to the magnificent Cornish Seal Sanctuary, where guests may explore the rehabilitation facility and even see a variety of penguins, ponies, otters, and goats! Dedicated hikers will appreciate heading west down the river to the picturesque Tremayne Quay, which is a great location for any canine companions as well! The magnificent Flambards Theme Park in Helston is a great place to keep the youngsters occupied. You can also ride the heritage railway and enjoy the rush of speeding through the area's blend of rural and coastal surroundings. The nearby National Trust property of Penrose, a manor home with possibilities for dog walking, an on-site café, and the gorgeous, nearby lake of The Loe in Porthleven are sure to keep the history lovers of the group entertained. Gweek genuinely boasts a picturesque location that is ideal for any Cornwall journey, with Helford Passage, Constantine, and Maenporth all nearby.
