Higher Roskorwell Cottage in Cornwall is praised for its peacefulness, rustic charm, and proximity to coastal paths. Guests appreciate the tasteful decor, garden, and views, though some mention the need for updates and additional information on local amenities. The cottage's character and location make it a favourite for many, with several planning return visits.
The cottage is consistently described as clean, with one guest specifically thanking for the 'super clean house'. No negative comments about cleanliness suggest high standards are maintained.
The location is highly valued for its tranquillity, rural setting, and access to coastal walks. Some guests find the narrow lanes challenging, but the seclusion is generally seen as a positive aspect.
Guests find the cottage to be cosy and well-equipped, though some mention that the beds and sofas could be more comfortable. The upstairs living room is appreciated for its views.
The cottage is well-equipped with white goods and a warm Aga. However, comments about the need for maintenance, updates to furniture, and issues with heating and Wi-Fi signal suggest room for improvement.
While guests mention receiving scones, jam, cream, milk, coffee, and tea, there are not enough references to consistently provided gifts or thoughtful touches to accurately score this category.

A couple of little niggles: the washing machine smelled of fungi - I did a hot wash in it after, so hopefully sorted, might need a wash with some vinegary water. The drying machine came in handy after a rainy day! What is nothing to do with the cottage: narrow roads, often single, so a bit stressful driving, but mostly ok, but drivers to be aware. Would be useful to have some more information about: local shops, how to turn on the hot water for the bath (that it needs about an hour, otherwise switch in cupboard by washing machine), we figured out everything else. Tv worked well, and loved the safe and big garden (needs mulching and feeding with organic matter in the autumn, but lovely). Extra bonus to have a freezer as well (we left a frozen chips behind for somebody :D), and left a couple of blue, white and gold plates (they are old, but hope could be used in the decorations). Didn't dare to touch the nice Willeroy Bochs ones, but loved looking at them, the others were great to use and pretty, the whole place has a lovely atmosphere. We were very lucky to have had it for a better price, apart from the long journey from the Midlands, would love to be back someday. Also a great base for visiting several lovely places around. Thank you!!!

Its situation was perfect. The garden a delight! Real oldie world yet so comfortable. We had a slight issue with heating as one of the storage heaters wasn"t working and the weather was unseasonably rather chilly for the first week! We thought there may have been a problem with the freezer size judging by comments by other visitors but not at all, it was more than adequate and the fridge. Overall we so enjoyed Upper Roskorwell and the walks from the cottage. We would highly recommend! And we loved the clock in the kitchen ticking away too! Except our holiday was ticking away.
