Located in Golant, a popular village with locals and visitors on the picturesque upper reaches of the Fowey River. Once here immerse yourself in village life, vibrant at times although at an altogether slower pace. Enjoy stunning walks following the river as it meanders downstream. Visit the impressive Restormel Castle and the harbour towns of Fowey and Charlestown. Just a stones throw away is Fowey, boasting some retaurants and individual boutiques. Slightly further afield is Charlestown featured in the Poldark series, a perfect place for lunch or relax on the quay. Attractions in the area include The Eden Project, The Shipwreck Centre, Lost Gardens of Heligan, Poldark Mine, St Michaels Mount and National Trust properties including nearby Lanhydrock house. Step into this stunning cottage and you ll find yourself in the open plan lounge/kitchen/diner, with plenty of comfy seating you can sit and relax after a busy day exploring and watch your favourite film on the TV/DVD in front of the wood burner. The dining table is big enough for everyone to enjoy a home cooked meal and the well equipped kitchen boasts an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washer/dryer. Heading up to the first floor where you will find the master king size bedroom with en suite shower room with shower and WC and a twin bedroom, also with en suite shower room with shower and WC. Heading outside guests will love spending those warm summers evening in the large enclosed garden with a gated sun deck offering garden furniture, a BBQ and a private hot tub, along with a grassed lawn area. On site guests can make use of the shared indoor endless pool, sauna, gym, badminton court, table tennis and games room. Although these facilities are for the use of everybody on site you must book your time in them on arrival. For the more sociable families there is a bar on site cleverly created from an old Silo, with outdoor seating. Open every Friday from March to October for drinks and food, with occasional live entertainment to which guests will be welcomed with free entry. There is off road parking for one car. Need to know: 2 bedrooms 1 king size and 1 twin. 2 en suite shower room. Electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washer/dryer. Wood burner (first basket of logs included). Christmas, New Year and Halloween events and entertainment. Bar and events space on site (Bar Silo Cornwall) with outdoor tables, when there is live music guests will be invited to attend free of charge. Bar open every Friday from March to October and on some special occasions such as New Year, with food sometimes served. Venue licenced for music up to 22.45 only. Music can be heard from the cottage.
