About this property

Penmorva is located on one of the most valuable and desirable roads in Cornwall, originally built in the 1920s, this detached property occupies an elevated position in a generous plot with outstanding southerly views across the Helford River from all floors. Look forward to unwinding in the spacious living/dining room, appointed with several sofas and a Smart TV at one end, whilst the other occupies a grand dining table with seating for twelve guests, providing a charming place for family mealtimes. Allow the chef of the group to get acquainted in the kitchen, equipped with all you could need for a self-catered break, including an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, freezer and a pretty breakfast bar and views over the garden and towards the Estuary. Once the evening draws to a close, retire to one of the six bedrooms, each one containing plush beds draped in lovely linen and home to plenty of storage for your personal items. Upstairs plays host to the family suite with a king-size bed leading onto the children’s single with an en-suite shower room, whilst across the hall there are two double bedrooms with double beds served by a bathroom. A single bedroom and a shower room on the ground-floor completes the interior of the main house, whilst there is also an annexe-style wing, offering a sitting area with a kitchenette, along with two bedrooms, one with a king-size bed and the other with a double-size bed, and a bathroom, perfect for those seeking privacy away from the group. During the summer months, be sure to take advantage of the mature gardens, where the terrace and outdoor furniture allows you to sit back and relax with a glass of fizz to further admire the stunning views of the estuary, all within complete privacy of your neighbours. Less than half a mile walk will bring you to Helford Passage Beach, a small sand and shingle beach easily accessible at low tide, favoured by walkers, wildlife fans and boat lovers alike. Stop off for a bite at the much-loved Ferry Boat Inn, a rustic pub where you can sit back and watch the children safely play on the beach just yards away. The South West Coast Path passes nearby with a beautiful walk westwards up the estuary towards the village of Gweek and strolling inland just a mile away are the sub-tropical gardens of Glendurgan. The Lizard Peninsula provides superb family days out, with the stunning beach at Kynance Cove set against dramatic cliffs with a café for refreshments, and the wonderfully quaint coastal villages of Coverack and Cadgwith being well-worth exploring. After a fun-filled day, return to Penmorva, set in an enviable position for family, friends and couples to enjoy in any season in Cornwall.

Mawnan Smith is set on the northern banks of the Helford estuary and is a great base to explore all of west and central Cornwall. It is a small village with a popular 17th Century 'thatched' pub (the Red Lion), restaurant and shops, also a working forge and craft centre. Initially developed as a distribution centre for goods and produce for the Lizard Peninsula, the village acted as a staging post for materials that were to be ferried across the Helford River - to the Lizard Peninsula. The "Old Smithy" has recently been restored by the Anvil Trust, to recreate a working smithy in the village. Mawnan Smith is close to Maenporth Beach and the Helford Estuary ideally situated in a quiet corner of Cornwall, with Falmouth town centre, Harbour and attractions nearby.
