About this property

Underlanes is a welcoming single-storey, semi detached, traditionally styled bungalow nestled in the small hamlet of Marshgate, Cornwall. Attached to the same owners smaller property Little Lanes (1026931) with a connecting lockable door which when booked together can sleep 6/7. Inside, spacious, comfortable rooms make this a homely base. Unwind and relax in the open-plan living space, where you can take in the lovely countryside views or curl up with a good book. Dine at the table and chairs with a delicious home-cooked meal. The double bedroom benefits from those same splendid rural views to wake up to and the neat twin looks over the peaceful garden. Underlanes has a neat patio which looks over the large front garden which you share with neighbouring holiday property Little Lanes. To the rear is a smaller enclosed garden for your own use. The award winning Hillsborough Farm Shop is 10 minutes drive away. Leave your car in the car park and explore the South West Coastal Path. The pretty harbour town of Boscastle with its witchcraft museum is a must see as is the bustling seaside village of Tintagel, home to plenty of traditional Cornish eateries and famed for the legendary King Arthur. Discover beautiful Tintagel Castle, boasting some of the most magnificent sea views imaginable. Discover the magnificent woodland and waterfall of St Nectan's Glen, or don your walking boots and head for the South West Coast Path. The popular coastal towns Crackington Haven, Bude and Polzeath are all nearby for beach lovers. Underlanes offers a quiet retreat on this spectacular part of the Cornish Coast.

A perfect Cornish coastal village, the road through Boscastle runs down to the small harbour at the bottom of the hill. The quaint village shops, local restaurants and pubs offering good food, Cornish real ales and live entertainment by local musicians, make this an ever popular visitor destination. Spectacular cliff tops, rocky coves, wild surf, open fields and rich wildlife characterise this beautiful area. The coastal footpath passes through some of Britain’s most rugged and spectacular coastal scenery. The sandy beaches of Bossiney, Trebarwith Strand and Crackington Haven are all within 5 miles and the surfing beaches at Bude and Polzeath are within easy driving distance. Close at hand lie the delights of Tintagel, swathed in the legends of King Arthur, several stately homes and renowned gardens, or the wide open space of Bodmin Moor, famous for its granite tors and Daphne Du Maurier’s Jamaica Inn.

Property suitable for our needs. Connecting door to other property run by same person. The couple staying there were quite loud at times when talking, so people staying at Underlanes need to be aware of potential for noise. We might have been noisy to them... Property has fields behind, with owners own cows and sheep - great to see them so close. Had a couple of issues with light bulb, and small leak by chimney breast (not surprising with awful weather) and Sue was apologetic and helpful. Cutlery and crockery need rinsing before use as there was a slight smell of damp to them daily where they sit in the cupboards, but this was no hindrance to our time at Underlanes, and we would definitely book the property again.

The property was large and very well equipped in a nice quiet location with shop and pub in walking distance.

The home itself is beautifully clean with everything you need. It is situated in a very good position to explore and visit lots of places. The owners are brilliant and very helpful. Would 100% recommend a stay here
