About this property

Settled in the small hamlet of Tregoodwell on the outskirts of the historical market town of Camelford in the county of Cornwall, is this delightful, two-bedroom property, Harry's Cottage. Retaining much of its character with original slate floors, exposed stone walls and a woodburning stove, Harry's Cottage is an ideal escape for a couple or a family of four.

Park up in the private parking space before making your way inside to the sitting room. Here you can look forward to being warmed by the woodburning stove and unwinding on the sofa with a cup of tea and a good book. Moving through the home, the dining room has seating for four and is ideal for planning the day's events or enjoying a cosy meal over a glass of wine. Here you will also find books, games and information on local walks and attractions. The kitchen has been well equipped with everything you could need to rustle up a home-cooked meal, and has access to the pretty rear garden. The garden hosts an external utility building, “The Piggery”, where you will find the freezer and tumble dryer. After a day of exploring the moors or strolling on the beach, enjoy a hot shower in the sleek shower room, which can be found on ground floor. Climb the stairs to the first-floor, where you can chose between two charming and comfortable bedrooms, a double and a twin bedroom, with storage for your holiday clothes. In the morning refresh yourself with a cup of coffee and enjoy sitting in the enclosed and private back garden, a perfect spot to watch the birds and relish the tranquil setting before exploring your local surroundings. The market town of Camelford is a ten minute walk away from Harry’s Cottage and boasts a variety of small independent businesses. Enjoy fresh fish and chips, a cream tea in the café, a pub lunch at The Masons Arms and stock up on local produce in the butchers shop. Walkers will delight at the countryside walks directly from the cottage and the South West Coastal Path a short drive away. Enjoy a climb to the highest points on Bodmin Moor, Rough Tor and Brown Willy to savour the ancient landscape, far reaching views and wildlife. For aviation fans Davidstow Airfield and Cornwall at War Museum is close by. Bodmin Moor has been awarded 'International Dark Sky Landscape' status, recognising its stunning night skies and minimal light pollution.

Tee up at Bowood Park Hotel & Golf Club and enjoy a trip to Trebarwith Strand with its beach café, pub, wide sandy beach and rock pools. Explore the other beautiful beaches along the North Coast, at Crackington Haven, Bossiney Cove and Widemouth Bay to name a few. Head to the rugged coast of Tintagel, famed for its ancient castle ruins which is alleged to be the birthplace of King Arthur, as well as the National Trust – Tintagel Old Post Office, and the unique Tintagel Toy Museum. Harry's Cottage is also within easy reach of the vibrant coastal towns of Bude and Padstow, and bicycle hire is available at Bodmin, Wadebridge and Padstow for a gentle ride along the famous Camel Trail. For a blend of country and coast, choose Harry's Cottage.

Camelford, an old market town on Cornwall's north coast, is well situated for visiting Bodmin Moor's wild region, as well as the high cliffs, secret coves, fishing villages, and surfing beaches that dot the landscape. The southwest coastal walk is popular all year, and the neighbouring villages and hamlets are home to a variety of country inns and eateries. Trebarwith Strand is the closest beach to Camelford, and it offers both surf for the more daring and safe rock pools for the smaller members! It's truly amazing, and it's just about five miles away. It's ideal for a day by the sea, and it's dog friendly as well.

The owners have thought of pretty much everything. Comfy beds, decent sofas, well equipped kitchen and good wifi. The garden is lovely, with chairs and a table available in the piggery (shed) and and abundance of birds to watch. We had a lovely week and would happily recommend Harry’s Cottage to others. Thank you.
