Wood Brook Cottage, a delightful character cottage nestled in the foot of a wooded valley adjacent to Clowance Bridge in the rural hamlet of Crowan approximately half a mile from the village of Praze-an-Beeble. The rural location makes it ideal for walking in the beautiful surrounding countryside, but its central location means it is only a short drive to many of Cornwall’s finest beaches on all coasts. The infant River Hayle rises in Crowan approximately quarter of a mile up the hill and flows across the bottom of the garden and under the adjoining Clowance Bridge into the woods and Lakeland of the Estate opposite. Step inside your new home from home as the inviting woodburning stove sets the stage for a relaxing retreat. Reclining settees, a state-of-the-art TV and fast fibre broadband allow you to unwind in comfort. The well-appointed dining/kitchen offers everything you need to prepare a delightful meal. Open the patio doors to extend the kitchen and enjoy the views of fields and woods, eat al-fresco on the patio area or fire up the barbeque. Soak up the sun with a refreshing drink as you listen to the babbling stream or as darkness falls, the call of the Owls from the woods. Each of the bedrooms has a pleasant rural view with louvred plantation shutters to the rear windows. The master bedroom has built in wardrobes, an exposed granite wall and king-sized bed. The other two bedrooms on the ground and first floors can be made up as twin rooms or super king-sized beds giving maximum flexibility to guests. Explore the local countryside, or venture to the golden sands of Hayle and Gwithian Beach just a short drive away. Here you can also explore the scenic estuary and bird reserve with a wide range of diverse species to look out for, before heading to the iconic Godrevey Lighthouse, where you can enjoy a coastal walk and soak in the panoramic views of the coastline across St Ives Bay. Visit the picturesque fishing village of St Ives for shopping, the Tate Modern, and any of the 7 beaches. And on return, enjoy the thermostatic outdoor shower, also ideal for sandy wetsuits or grubby dogs! Penzance, a short drive away, beckons with art galleries, St Michael’s Mount, and various boat trips from fishing to wildlife cruises and even to the enchanting Isles of Scilly. Wood Brook Cottage offers a truly special stay, providing a home from home as you explore Cornwall’s unique and beautiful countryside and coast.
