About this property

Emerging from the Tamar Valley’s lush verdant landscape, this modern home with its architectural proportions and Bauhaus-inspired decor couldn’t be further from ‘chocolate box’ if it tried making it ideal for an away-from-it-all family holiday in rural Cornwall. Vastly spacious and bathed in natural light, The Maple's interior sports clean lines and paired back styling, brought to life by the owner’s evident love for design. Mid-century pieces and repurposed materials compliment modern furnishings and eclectic artwork, with playful elements adding a warmth and homeliness to the space.

An atmosphere of calm flows throughout thanks to the home’s floor to ceiling apex windows and numerous glass doors that invite the far-reaching countryside views in. Cleverly laid out to suit family holidays, the large open plan living / entertainment space is upstairs and includes a superbly kitted-out kitchen with convivial dining space as well as a lounge. As welcoming as it is functional, this floor is perfectly proportioned for guests to be able to cook, eat and unwind in together, with bifold doors leading to the elevated terrace outside. Designed with outdoor dining in mind, the terrace wraps around the side of the house and features a table and seating for ten, with sun loungers positioned to make the most of every ray of the Cornish sunshine. Downstairs are the property’s five spacious bedrooms, each an inviting place to retreat to for afternoons curled up with a good book or nights of refreshingly comfortable sleep. Three contemporary bathrooms not only look great, but also provide the space and privacy that are essential to any family stay.

From its plethora of walking and cycle trails to its National Trust site at Cotehele, its an outdoor adventurer’s dream destination. And for those visitors who prefer a little less exertion whilst on holiday, The Maple sits alongside a winding path that leads right into the village, so pub lunches and lazy afternoon drinks are most definitely on the agenda.
