You’ll want to explore this popular area of Cornwall. The picturesque fishing village of Port Isaac is just three miles away. Best known as the home of BBC’s Doc Martin, the narrow streets are filled with traditional white washed cottages. The harbour and much of the surrounding area are considered an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and a stop off is the perfect way to spend a glorious summer afternoon. A short car journey takes you to the Elizabethan quay at Boscastle, surrounded by steep cliffs this unspoilt harbour village has lovely tea rooms, pretty stone cottages and a witchcraft museum. Much of the land nearby is owned by the National Trust making for some excellent walks. Why not take a trip to the grand Georgian house of Pencarrow House & Garden, home to a notable art and antiques collection as well as beautiful formal gardens. For spectacular views of the countryside you can hire bikes and cycle or walk the Camel Trail. Spend a day on the coast at Polzeath Beach, a popular spot for surfers and families with plenty of shoreline to spread out on, taking a stroll along the South West Coast Path to Pentire Point. With something for everyone, you’re assured of a superb Cornish holiday at The Linhay.

Not far from Port Isaac, St Kew is a small village – the first recorded in Cornwall! - on the north Cornish coast. The village church dates from the fifteenth century and is home to some remarkable stained glass windows. Also in St Kew is a traditional village pub and a golf course, and there is a donkey sanctuary at St Kew Highway. The St Kew Inn also dates from the fifteenth century, and boasts a lovely open fire in winter and a pretty beer garden for sunshine drinks in the summer. There are some lovely walks in the countryside surrounding St Kew, including a circular route through the river valleys.
