Perch at the quirky tractor-seat stools at the breakfast bar while the chef of the group sets about making use of the wonderful fitted kitchen and all the appliances at hand, including a large electric range cooker with a gas hob, with pretty blue tiling lining the back wall.

Gather around the stunning bespoke timber dining table to tuck into your feast and relish this time spent with loved ones within such scenic surroundings, with a fabulous large decked area outside with outdoor sofas and picnic benches for alfresco dining in the sun and views over the lake and quarry.

Also out on the well-kept lawn is a children's climbing frame, sure to be a source of endless fun for your little ones, with the washing machine and tumble dryer found in the utility room being perfect for sorting out any dirty clothing! Providing access to the beautiful Cornish countryside is the amazing Camel Trail, a disused railway line running from Wenfordbridge, down to Bodmin and over to Padstow, perfect for cyclists and walkers alike, this 18-mile trail is around a mile from the lodge. Discover the fascinating Bodmin Jail Attraction for a fun afternoon out, with atmospheric exhibitions within this 18th century prison, even offering overnight ghost walks for the truly brave! More history can be discovered at Bodmin Town Museum and Bodmin Keep, whilst the array of cafés and restaurants serve as a nice treat to indulge in after your exploring. The National Trust 19th century home, Lanhydrock, makes another delightful day out, wander around the scenic parkland with bike trails here and marvel at the fine interiors. A scenic woodland ramble can be enjoyed in Cardinham Woods on the edge of Bodmin Moor, whilst a subterranean adventure is waiting at Carnglaze Caverns in this former slate mine with an underground lake and even an area for concerts and events to take place.
