The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead is home to this charming and historic town, which is just one of many attractions in the region. Windsor is well-known as the location of Windsor Castle, one of the royal family's official residences. To find the longest path ever, walk away from the well-known castle and up the straight path to Snow Hill, where a statue of George III stands. The riverside provides lovely walks, with a congregation of swans to be spotted on either side of the bridge; and the church of All Saints on Frances Road is worth a visit because it houses a lost altarpiece by the famous Thomas Hardy that was recently discovered behind a screen. Just to the left of the Crooked House on Queen Charlotte Street is Britain's shortest street, which features a building that looks like it might actually collapse at any moment. This picturesque city also features a wide variety of unique boutiques, mainstream retailers, trendy hangouts, delicious eateries, and interesting landmarks and museums. Legoland Windsor Resort is an exciting amusement park that is a hit with families visiting the area with young children. Keep in mind that you can visit the Royal Windsor Racecourse, the Frogmore House and Gardens, and the Windsor Guildhall, all of which date back to the 17th century, and that the fabulous city of London is only an hour away by train. Ideal for use as a home base during your next trip to the sunny south.

Every day, every 5 minutes from 05.30 hours until 22.30 hours a plane came over very low, because the property turned out to be in the flightpass to London Heathrow. Nobody told us and it was not in the Sykes information. The outside of the property was dirty and had not been cleaned for several weeks. We have taken lots of pictures to show this. Inside there was no welcome package. The only extra were 2 toilet rolls and a package of kitchen cleaning towels. On arrival a party was going on in the adjacent property of the owners. Our dedicated parking space was therefore not available. Nobody told us. Going to the property we were met by an Ukranian young man, called Victor. In the days coming every where we looked , there was Victor. Nobody told us. When we wanted to open our bedroom doors, there was Victor smoking a cigarette and talking loudly into his mobile. Victor slept next door. No more than 3 meters away. Nobody told us. It was all very disappointing and a total waste of money. After 4 days of hardly being able to sleep, we went out of the cottage and stayed in a hotel. Beside the fact that the new owners clearly do not not know how to run a cottage to rent out, we wonder why rental standards of Sykes Holiday Cottages are so different. The first week we stayed in a cottage in Warminster which was suberb and than this.

Lovely location and caught lots of small fish.... We did find the settee a little uncomfortable for the two of us but there was another chair there which we could have used. Husband found the bed a little soft, but I was very comfortable. Kitchen and bathroom facilities really nice. The outside space was lovely, with seating, outdoor dining, and swing seat for two.... and plenty of activity on the river. Just 5 minute drive to Windsor town centre. Perfect location. We loved our stay and would go again.

Quirky, quiet, simple, cosy and right on the Thames. Really restful. Would love to return.
