A wonderful cottage in a very quiet spot. Interior cleverly adapted. Beautiful garden which we hope to enjoy even more when we return in a warmer season.

We visited the walnut tree cottage 4 times in 1 year and see that there are lots of things that should be better, otherwise I would give excellent. 1) Two of the four chairs in the kitchen are really bad and should be replaced to prevent accidents. We recognised this already in april2) the matrasses are very bad and should be replaced. We found the matrassas during our first stau in november 2014 a problem.3) there are serieus problems with the drains in the shower. You will stand in a few seconds till your ankles in the water during the shower.4) during our last stay (oct 2015) we had a very bad wifi connection5) There should be more lights around the house. The emergency or arrival lights do not work good. and beside that, there should be more lights around the cottage and the parking. Just imaging you are a new visitor. You arrive in the middle of nowhere, it is already dark and you do not have enough light. That is no good start of your holiday. When you unlead your car, you really need more light because the carparking is behind the cottage under the trees etc.6)after all those visits there s still a light damaged in the bathroom.7) During our first visit I broke the teabagholder on the last morning. I left two pounds and a note for the cleaner with appology and two pounds for replacing. During the three following visits there was no new teabagholder.8)Cleaning is not good: At the first day there was lots of black hair in the drain of the shower; pans and dishes were not clean; the dishwashertabs were put in a wet bowl and because of that they were sticking together.9) frugal with extras; During our first stay a year ago there was a plenty of all which give us a good feeling of hospitality. Now things were poor...In a cottage for 3 persons you cant give 1 shampoo, 1 soap and 1 showergel....; this time no home made jam from the belmont. and what we found the most sad of this...they did not feed the birds regularly. We recognised that immediatly. There was no feed and there were no birds in the birdfeedinghous at all. We bought feed and it took a few days to get some of the birds back. So this was not just forgotten for 1 week. The birds in the feedinghouse is a real attraction of the cottage. You are sitting at the kitchentable and you can see lots of beautiful birds at your kitchenwindow when they get ever week feed in the feedinghouse. The other times there was a full feedinghouse and lots of birds. So that was very disappointing this time.We also would ask the gardeners for keeping the bushes at the kitchenwindow short so that you can keep a good vieuw from the kitchenwindow to the estate. Let him take place at the kitchentable and have a look.Because of we visited the cottage 4 times in 1 year we had the strong feeling to give you this feedback so you can work at the quality. It is that we like the cottage and the surroundings so much that we give a good and not a poor. But you really should improve the things we mentioned. And if you like to contact us, be free! *personal info removed by Feefo*
