Guests say

The Old Barn in Folkestone is praised for its excellent kitchen, clean beds, and a games room that provides entertainment with pool, table tennis, and air hockey. Guests appreciate the warm accommodation, great shower, and the tranquil countryside setting. It serves as a good base for exploring local attractions and is considered great value for money.

The kitchen and beds are noted as very clean. However, one guest suggested that sofa covers could be washed between visits, indicating a slight room for improvement in cleanliness.

While guests mention the tranquillity and proximity to Folkestone, there is insufficient detail to accurately score the location.

The property is described as warm and the shower is praised, but some guests found the non-opening windows made it a bit stuffy, affecting overall comfort.

The games room is a highlight, though some equipment may need repairs or replacement. The kitchen is well-equipped, but there were minor issues with missing items.

There are no mentions of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness, so this category cannot be scored.

This place was good the facilities were excellent kitchen and beds very clean at the accommodation, the boys loved the barn. This was the best part for me as they could play pool, table tennis and air hockey. Great for the evenings and when the weather was poor. I was disappointed that the fire place doesn’t work but it doesn’t list it as working that was me just going by the pictures. The place is warm. The farm is lovely, the owner great very helpful There were a few things I would say the sofa covers need to be washed between visits, the windows not opening in the front room and a couple of the bedrooms meant it was abit stuffy but I’m being picky. The shower is great. The security deposit is £100 which was abit strange as it has to be in cash which is odd these days but be prepared for this.

We had a lovely stay at the Old Barn which was convenient for exploring the local attractions. The kitchen was well equipped and had plenty of storage space, as well as a large hob and oven for the larger family or group. The windows were of the quaint old wooden frame type and added a touch of nostalgia, but unfortunately were not very practical as their delicate structure meant it was difficult to open or leave open during windy conditions. The games room was spacious and we enjoyed playing table tennis, darts, pool and air hockey. While we were able to use all the games equipment, a few of these could use some repairs or replacement. The area is tranquil and away from the business of urban living which is just what we were looking for.Folkestone is a relatively short drive away and definitely worth a few visits. Overall a well maintained place to stay with helpful management team. Would definitely recommend.
