Guests say

Bow Cottage in Canterbury is praised for its cosy charm, convenient location, and thoughtful touches like fresh flowers and a welcome bottle of wine. Guests enjoy the local pubs, countryside walks, and proximity to Canterbury and coastal areas. Some mention the property could use a bit of TLC and note the steep stairs.

Most guests found the cottage clean, with only a few noting that some aspects appeared tired. The overall impression is of a well-maintained property.

The location is highly appreciated for its great access to local attractions, countryside walks, and nearby Canterbury. The presence of good pubs and restaurants within walking distance is a plus, although some guests noted traffic noise.

The cottage is described as cosy and comfortable, with a well-equipped kitchen and a lovely garden. However, some guests found the bed hard and the shower pressure low, which slightly affected the comfort level.

Facilities are generally well-received, with a fully equipped kitchen and a nice dining area. The wood burner is a highlight for many. Some guests suggest the cottage needs a little maintenance and better shower pressure.

Guests frequently mention the thoughtful gestures such as the welcome bottle of wine and fresh flowers. These touches contribute to the welcoming atmosphere, although it is politely noted that such gifts are not guaranteed.

This was our second visit to Bow Cottage and it was lovely to be back. The cottage was warm and cosy, with a homely feel and was full of character - including creaky floorboards! Bow Cottage was well - equipped with everything you could need for a stay away from home. I will definitely book it again.

Lovely cosy cottage with steep stairs and creaky boards all part of the character of a listed building. Lovely bottle of wine as a welcome. Some aspects are tired but overall clean. High Street is quite busy and noisy at times. Countryside walks from the door and 15mins walk to train for Canterbury, London and the coast. Great location for exploring and fabulous pubs 5mins walk.

Wonderful time in the cottage - very cozy, all the amenities you need, very clean and quiet. And the location is amazing - Fordwich has so much history, surrounded by beautiful countryside, offering all kinds of hiking opportunities. And they’re is so much more to explore in nearby Canterbury and beyond. Plus there is an excellent restaurant just 3 minutes walk from the cottage (George and Dragon). I wish to add the owner is accommodating, helpful and responsive. We’ll be back.
