The location is wonderful, with a pub close by in the village of Staple and the picturesque Wingham only two miles away. The cathedral city of Canterbury is also a short drive and is a lively place with plenty of diverse shopping, clubs and restaurants. A striking open fire waits on winter evenings, or you can sit out on the sunny patio with a glass of wine to enjoy a Kentish summer at its best. An abundance of walks are on your doorstep with a number of good pubs to finish up in. . Shop and restaurant 2½ miles, pub 1 mile.

Lovely spot, very peaceful and ideal for our dog. Easy drive to various dog friendly beaches too. Very helpful host who stayed in contact for the whole stay.

If you want a quiet secluded place to stay within Kent then The Bothy is the place to be. Set within a private estate it is so peaceful there and the secure garden is one of the best we’ve had for the dogs. The Bothy has everything you need apart from a smart TV (freeview TV only) so we took our Firestick so we could stream through that, although, as stated, the WiFi isn’t great at times due to the rural location and I know you don’t go on holiday to watch TV but it’s nice to have that option. The location means your about 20-30 mins from most places to visit. Would definitely recommend The Bothy. The local pub in Staple was great too . It was a great find ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The Bothy was not up to standard, bathroom good, beds ok, but living room a bit grubby. The couches could have done with a detergent clean and the outside table was `green`, with dirt/mould. Presumably it would be there for use when outside eating etc. Paint peeling off entrance door rotten sill under the door. Hope that this helps.
