About this property

Built for families, by a family, Forest Cottage boasts a unique homely charm, making all guests feel completely at home.

Set in the stunning New Forest in the charming village of Lymington, this detached house boasts all the comforts of home and more. With four full bedrooms, and additional space in the snug, this home can sleep 11 guests comfortably as well as two babies. The bedrooms are set across two floors, offering ample access for all guests. With the family vision in mind, there is even a specific children's bedroom which features a bunk bed and trunk bed, adorned in neutral tones, finished with a variety of children's toys and even a children's wardrobe. Beyond this, there is also a play room and further toys throughout the home.

The larger bedrooms are styled with more urban edge, boasting grey walls with ample storage space, even seating and of course, a bed. All mattresses being of a medium firmness to encourage a truly restful slumber.

On the upper floor of the house, there is a snug area which also doubles as a large living space, featuring large, cosy, textured sofas, a smart TV and entertainment all lying opposite floor ro ceiling glass doors which open onto a small balcony area, flooding the whole room with natural light. This is the perfect place to watch the sunset, the stars, or even just enjoy a nice glass of local cider in the warm summer glow. This snug also doubles as an extra bedroom with one of the sofas cleverly disguising a bed.

Downstairs there is a large kitchen and breakfast area, complete with everything once could require preparing a full family meal, even including recipe books! Outside of this breakfast area there is a further dining area which seats up to eight guests, on an antique style table. There is also a further lounge downstairs which also has a smart TV.

The New Forest is found in the South East of England, it covers most of South West Hampshire spreading into South East Wiltshire and East Dorset.

The New Forest is known mainly for the New Forest National park which, once used as a hunting ground for William the Conqueror, is an area of stunning natural beauty, encompassing waterways and rivers, spreading over an impressive 566 sq km, stretching all the way to the coast. This gives visitors a wealth of things to do, perfectly balancing coast, countryside, cliff walks and the more urban village and town areas.

Guests are free to walk, cycle or even ride through the national park, where they will be sure to come across the New Forest ponies which graze and live here all year round. (Be sure to pick up a lucky New Forest horse shoe from a local gift shop before leaving!) There are also deer, owls, otters, all sorts of British wildlife can be found here. Beyond this there are many sanctuaries, gardens and even a wildlife park, all within the park area. The waterways that run through here are also impressive, offering visitors the opportunity to canoe, kayak, sail and even fish.

After an exciting day exploring the forest, visitors will find a whole host of locally sourced cuisine nearby, where one can enjoy a traditional meal of game and vegetables in a local public house or venture into a local village to experience the catch of the day, both accompanied by locally brewed cider, ale or beer.

Beyond the expanse of nature, coastline and cliff walks, there are also tea rooms, restaurants, a water park, theme parks and even the main shopping hub of Southampton, all just a short drive away.

What a stunning and stylish house! We had the best weekend celebrating my husbands 35th birthday. The layout of the house, both the inside and outside areas, the furniture and appliances... everything was beautiful and in spotless condition. We had 3 toddlers in our group and can say it's IDEAL for kids in every possible sense. BBQ and outside siting area is just perfect for long lunches, kitchen with it's front garden is ideal for breakfast and relaxed dinners, gorgeous (and huge!) upstairs living room and terrace is ideal for drinks and chill evenings. Simply amazing - thanks for everything! Would love to come back some day.

We loved the quiet of this location, Whilst only being moments away from Lymington and Milford on sea - its ideal. All the family enjoyed the really spacious house-there were so many living areas that we never felt on top of each other and has a superb week. Grandparents were very pleased with the lovely downstairs bedroom and bathroom
