Guests say

Oakwood is a well-regarded holiday cottage praised for its spaciousness, cleanliness, and excellent location for exploring the New Forest and coast. Guests appreciate the modern amenities, suitability for multi-generational families, and the attentive owners. While some guests suggest improvements in seating comfort and shower temperature, the overall experience is positive, with many looking forward to return visits.

The property is generally described as clean, with multiple reviews affirming its tidiness. One review mentioned areas that could use more attention, but this seems to be an exception rather than the rule.

The location is highly praised for its proximity to beaches, the New Forest, and local amenities. It is considered ideal for trips out and exploring the surrounding attractions.

While the property is often described as comfortable and suitable for families, there are comments about the lounge seating being uncomfortable, which suggests room for improvement in this area.

Facilities are generally well-received, with the property being described as well-equipped. However, there are remarks about lukewarm water in the en-suite shower, indicating some maintenance issues.

The owners are noted for their attentiveness and a welcome basket is mentioned, indicating thoughtfulness. However, it should be noted that such gestures are appreciated but not guaranteed for every stay.

The location is ideal for trips out. It’s a very quiet location with great shops nearby , particularly supermarkets! The house is well equipped but a few changes would make a big difference. The lounge / diner area settees are uncomfortable even if you are able bodied but any back problems you should probably think again about staying here. The lounge / diner table and settees do make the room feel cramped. Yet the kitchen is very spacious. Maybe rethink dining? The en-suite shower is mentioned numerous times in the on-site comments book . During our week stay the best we got for hot water was lukewarm. The cleaning was ok but we did spot areas ( edges mainly ) that could do with a clean. In summary sort the shower, look at the seating , a deep clean and you have near perfect accommodation for a week stay

The property was in a good position for visiting the New Forest area and was given five stars by my friends as well as myself and would recommend Oakwood to anyone looking for somewhere to stay in the area.

Oakwood was ideal for the 3 generations of our family. It is in a great location for beaches, the New Forest, Wild Life park and motor museum - something for everyone. The house is modern, clean, and all the facilities a family needs. We have stayed here twice and have not been disappointed.
