There have been comments about the kitchen facilities but it is completely adequate for a short stay. The description of a number of steps up, and then down to the cottage are accurate so be aware if mobility is an issue. The views are gorgeous in the best of the Hampshire countryside. Easy walking access into the village and the to footpaths around the ‘Hangers’ are not to be missed. A particular recommendation for a pub under new management at Steep; The Cricketers Inn if you are that way out. Great beer and amazing food. Sarah and Chris made us more than welcome to their studio annexe and was a real treat for our July week’s break.

The Garden Studio in Selborne, Hants, is perfect for exploring the South Downs National Park, Jane Austen country, and the south coast. There are some lovely walks in the immediate area, the Zig Zag path being one of them, and the village of Selborne has a lovely pub. The Selborne Arms does excellent food, and a nice range of real ales, the other little gem in the village, if you enjoy real ale, is the Jubilee Tap. The village is also home to Gilbert White's house and gardens, Gilbert White was a famous 18th-century literary naturalist, he was also with his brother, the constructer of the Zig Zag path. Going back to the Jubilee Tap, they have a micro-brewery on-site that brews beers to Gilbert Whites' original recipes, everyone is a delight. Overall, this is a perfect location for a very nice holiday, and the Garden Studio is a comfortable, well-equipped place to stay with wonderful views.
