About this property

Tyte Cottage is a beautiful property that it is arranged over the ground floor, nestled peacefully in the picturesque village of Great Rollright. Sleeping up to four guests, it is the perfect getaway for a small family, small group of friends or a couple, seeking a relaxing break in the Cotswolds.

You are welcomed onto the property by three sought-after off-road parking spaces on the gravel driveway, so you can unload your luggage straight into the property and begin your holiday.

A stable door opens into the open-plan living space, sure to be the social hub throughout your stay, home to a large Cotswold stone fireplace with a warming woodburning stove, dual aspect windows, and a well-equipped country style kitchen and dining table.

Two lovely bedrooms are located at one end of the property, both benefitting from en-suites, the first has beautiful views overlooking the garden and has a super-king-size bed with ample storage and the second has a super-king-size bed (zip/link, can be twin on request) and French doors leading out into the scenic garden.

Sip on your morning coffee and catch the sunrise out in the extensive gardens that are mostly lawned, with a variety of beautiful flowers, trees and bushes surrounding, and a lovely patio terrace, with outdoor seating and a charcoal barbecue, making it a perfect spot for alfresco dining. A large vegetable garden can also be found within the grounds, as well as a woodland area which has a small pond, enclosed by fencing.

The village of Great Rollright sits just north of Chipping Norton, set high on a hill and enjoys panoramic views across the valley, with St Andrews church sat within the village which dates to the late 12th Century, with additions in the 13th, 14th and 15th Century.

Head out into the market town of Chipping Norton, where you can enjoy some breakfast at The Old Mill Coffee House & Bistro, before catching a show at The Chipping Norton Theatre or meandering around the market square where you may be lucky to catch the farmers’ market if you’re visiting on the third Saturday that occurs of each month.

A short car journey will bring you to nearby Chadlington, where you can visit Diddly Squat Farm and indulge in delicious hamburgers, cool draft beers, lagers, ciders and rosé, and also the interesting cow juice.

You are centred around wonderful walking and cycling routes so why not head to Kingham to discover the lovely village green and marvel at the surrounding Evenlode Valley, before taking the ‘Ancient Stones & Old Manors’ cycle route which takes you through Chastleton House which is a Grade l listed Jacobean manor built in the early 1600s, past Rollright Stones and back to Chipping Norton where you can have a refreshing drink at The Chequers pub.

This market town defines the saying "good things come in small packages" as it proves itself to be a wonderful place for tourists to stay. Chipping Campden sits in the northern part of the Cotswolds and boasts many historical buildings from St. James' church where the Chipping Camden Music Festival is held every year, to the early 17th century market hall upon which the town prides itself. Not only does the town have a rich history but much more, the high street is laced with charming Cotswold stone buildings with a range of shops and pubs. Nearby there are several beautiful, formal gardens for you to wander through. Chipping Campden has held its own 'Olimpick Games' since the early 1600s including peculiar sports such as 'shin-kicking', most certainly worth lining your holiday up with to experience something so unique. For a dose of famous history, head to the birthplace of William Shakespeare in Stratford-upon-Avon just 12 short miles away, it offers some charming little buildings, bookshops, theatres and museums.
