Guests say

Guests consistently praise the apartment's tasteful decor, comfortable furnishings, and well-equipped kitchen. The riverside location offers tranquility and scenic views, with easy access to Rye's charming town centre. Thoughtful touches by the hosts, including welcome gifts, add to the homely feel. While most reviews highlight cleanliness, a few mention minor issues.

The majority of guests found the apartment to be very clean and well-presented. However, there were isolated comments about cleanliness not meeting expectations on arrival, which slightly affects the overall high standard noted by others.

The location is highly regarded for its quiet riverside setting and proximity to Rye's town centre. Guests enjoy the views and the convenience for exploring local attractions, although some noted the approach road and nearby industrial area as less appealing.

Guests frequently mention the apartment's warmth and comfort, with a special mention for the quality of the shower and the comfort of the beds. The homely atmosphere and comfortable furnishings contribute to a relaxing stay.

The apartment is praised for its well-equipped kitchen, modern bathroom, and overall high standard of equipment and furnishings. Some minor maintenance issues are noted, but these do not detract significantly from the overall positive experience.

The hosts' thoughtfulness is frequently commended, with mentions of welcome gifts such as wine, milk, and biscuits. While these gestures are greatly appreciated, it is politely noted that such extras, while delightful, are not guaranteed for every stay.

About this property

This spacious flat is light and airy and is ideally situated on the banks of the River Brede just a short stroll to the centre of the ancient cinque port town of Rye. It has plenty of space to spread out and relax and soak up the views of the passing boats and the beautiful sunsets from the balcony. It is furnished with a comfortable sofa and reading chair which you can position to make the most of the views of the river and the fields beyond. The flat has large windows and patio doors onto the south and west facing balcony - making the most of the sunshine all day and ending up with the stunning sunsets.

There is a 40" smart TV, DVD player, radio/Bluetooth speaker and wifi throughout the property. The kitchen is well equipped and boasts a large breakfast bar and bar stools. There is an under counter fridge and separate under counter freezer at the property. There is also a dining table and chairs in the open plan living area for a more formal meal. The bedroom has a king size bed and plenty of wardrobe space and its own TV. The modern bathroom is accessed either from the bedroom or the hallway and has a walk-in shower with both a full 'rain head' and hand-held shower.

There is a dedicated parking space in the private car park in front of The Boathouse. Rye town centre is a few minutes walk and there are many shops, cafes, pubs and even a cinema. There are also plenty of places to visit in the area and the visitor centre in Rye has lots of ideas - although there are also some suggestions left in the flat.

It was a very cosy base during some pretty grim weather. We would love to return in the summer to make the most of the balcony. Convenient for the nature reserves at Rye Harbour and Dungeness and a short walk into the centre of Rye - it is really well placed. Thank you.

The road leading to the property was full of pot holes and dark at night - a torch is needed. The Boathouse is very comfortable and has everything you need for a self catering holiday. The host was welcoming and helpful. We very much enjoyed our stay and hope to visit again.

Everything had been thought of to provide for a self catering holiday. Little touches, like hand wash, shower gel, tea, coffee, sugar, milk, olive oil, salt, pepper and a cold bottle of Prosecco were above and beyond. I would have preferred bath sheets rather than bath towels, but they were of excellent quality. Key safe a little tricky on arrival and departure, but does the job. Would we stay there again, a definite YES.
