Pull into the off-road parking space and take in the rural setting, where a four-acre meadow and woodland surround this small collection of individual holiday retreats. Follow the path towards the yurt and enter its enclosed garden, where three-foot-high screening offers separation from the neighbouring accommodation. Step onto the decking and pause among the outdoor furniture, ready to enjoy a morning drink in the fresh air or gather around the fire pit as evening settles over the grounds.

Venture inside beneath the curved roof to discover a studio-style space designed for spending time together. Settle into the sitting area and warm yourself beside the woodburning stove, while the underfloor heating provides additional warmth beneath your feet. When appetites call, store your ingredients in the fridge with ice box before preparing a light meal using the small electric oven, then bring everyone together around the dining area to eat and plan the following day. The kettle and toaster make breakfast simple, allowing you to begin the morning with a hot drink and a slice of toast before heading out to explore.

As the day draws to a close, retire to the double bed or one of the two single beds and rest beneath the shelter of the traditional yurt. Wake refreshed and make the short walk to the nearby shared shower room, where you can rinse off beneath the walk-in shower before using the basin and WC. Back outside, light the barbecue for an alfresco meal, settle around the fire pit beneath the evening sky or walk across to the shared spa area. Reserve a complimentary hourly slot and lower yourself into the six-person hot tub, let the warmth of the barrel sauna ease tired muscles or take an invigorating dip in the cold plunge pool.

Logs and other useful items are available from the on-site mini farm shop, while drinking water can be collected from the outdoor borehole-fed tap. The Queens Head is around a short walk away for a drink or meal, with the nearest shop a short drive from the site. After discovering Buckinghamshire’s gardens, heritage and countryside, return to Yurt for a barbecue on the decking, an evening beside the woodburning stove or a pre-booked session in the shared spa. The exciting market town of Buckingham is a historic landmark within Buckinghamshire, boasting an array of character with its quaint and quirky weekly markets, Georgian buildings, cobbled streets, and industrial displays dating back through the Jurassic and Viking periods, as well as ancient buildings such as the Old Gaol and Town Hall, among other Grade II listed buildings. Buckingham high street is home to a wealth of shops, pubs, cafés, restaurants, and takeaways, whilst a steep hill walk takes you to the church of St Peter and St Paul looking over the town. Alternatively, visit the Chantry Chapel, known for being the oldest building in the whole town with its eclectic Norman doorway. Other exciting tourist destinations are easily accessible from here, with Bletchley and Milton Keynes a short drive away, and the outstanding market town of Banbury in reach, whilst Northampton, Bedford and Royal Leamington Spa can be found further afield.
