We had a fantastic stay. Everything was really clean and well thought out. The only thing we felt there could be would be a radio or Bluetooth speaker (not essential as we went shopping and got one) Our yorkie pup enjoyed the walks around the area. The hot tub was also great to relax in come the evening after walking all day.

We had the most idyllic stay at Shire Cottage near Ringwood this August, staying Monday–Friday with two adults and our two dogs — and honestly, we couldn’t have asked for more! 🐾💚From the moment we arrived, everything was so well thought out and made our stay completely effortless. The key lock meant checking in was super easy, and we were loaned an electric gate fob for the duration of our stay, which made coming and going really convenient.The cottage is incredibly dog friendly — our two were clearly very welcome, with treats waiting for them on arrival! The boot room was an absolute dream, complete with a doggy wash, towels, hoover and fans provided during the hot weather. There’s also a shared, fully enclosed front garden, which made letting the dogs out for toileting incredibly easy. We could even walk them off lead, and it was so peaceful that we barely bumped into anyone.We met Sally, the host, several times during our stay and she was absolutely lovely — so friendly, welcoming and a real delight. The homemade scones and Prosecco waiting for us on arrival were such a thoughtful touch too! 🥂🧁The cottage itself is beautifully designed, spotlessly clean and feels incredibly calm and peaceful. We loved the way the outside had been brought in, with foliage and flowers throughout. The kitchen was really well equipped, the space was thoughtfully laid out and, of course, the hot tub was lush! ♨️The WiFi was a little slow at times, but honestly, it didn’t impact our stay at all. We genuinely have no criticisms — just a couple of ideas for future enhancements. We brought our own air fryer, which would be a really useful addition to self-catering accommodation, and a small dishwasher would definitely be appreciated because nobody wants to be washing up on holiday! 😂 With increasingly hot summers, air conditioning would also be incredible. We were lucky enough to arrive after the heatwaves, but the bedroom was still quite warm at times.The location is absolutely brilliant too. There are gorgeous walks nearby, so many dog-friendly places to explore, and you’re not far from the coast, the New Forest/forest walks or even the ferry for the Isle of Wight. There is just so much to see and do.We’ve already told our friends about Shire Cottage and would 100% recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful, beautiful and genuinely dog-friendly getaway.We had such a lush stay and really hope to visit again soon. ❤️Book it — you won’t regret it! 🐶🐶🌿✨

A lovely cosy cottage, really nicely decorated and welcoming - perfect for couples looking for a getaway. It isn’t full of cheap ikea furniture like other places you can rent, you can tell the owners care about you having a comfortable stay! They even left welcoming wine and scones!! The hot tub is easy to use, and the outside area is comfortable to sit in as well.There is also a fully equipped kitchen so you don’t have to eat out for every meal, but it is a close drive to several pubs or the lovely Ringwood if you do want to eat out.Lastly, even though there are several other cabins on the same property within a stones throw, you have complete privacy. You can hear other residents and the owners at times, but nothing to disturb you for too long.Highly recommend, we would stay here again.
