This delightful cottage is set beside the River Washford and is ideal for a couple looking to explore this wonderful area. The cottage lies on the old West Somerset Mineral Line, nowadays a cycleway/walkway to Washford passing through spectacular unspoilt Somerset countryside. This cosy holiday home offers comfortable accommodation and has an open plan living area with a woodburner, great for cooler evenings, a glass of wine and a good book. There's also a double bedroom, and a bathroom, giving plenty of room. From the parking area there are steps through the terraced garden to a lawn beside the river, a sunny quiet area to watch the fish and listen to the birds. The cottage is a stone’s throw from a friendly village pub, shop and a village green where numerous sports activities occur throughout the year. The village hall is home to ‘Mineral Line’, which is run by volunteers and offers high quality music in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere with a guarantee of top quality food to accompany the evening; its popularity has brought audiences and performers from far and wide. Four miles away is Watchet harbour and the magnificent Somerset coastline. Why not take the steam train from Washford and enjoy the ride to Minehead with its delightful seafront, sandy beach and array of shops? Alternatively visit the quaint village of Dunster, which has a wealth of historic buildings including an 11th century National Trust-owned castle. Roadwater is a small Somerset village on the edge of Exmoor National Park. The village, which offers a shop and a pub, is an ideal base for enjoying this beautiful area. The harbour village of Watchet is just 5 miles away, with quaint shops to browse, the steam railway to enjoy and boats bobbing about on the harbour. Visit Dunster and explore the dramatic castle, or head to the sandy beach at Minehead for a traditional day by the sea. Head inland to the Quantocks and to enjoy miles of wonderful walking. A superb destination for a Somerset holiday all year round.
