Snaptrip says

The Old Goat Barn at Trout Cottage in Somerset is highly praised for its peaceful and tranquil setting, with guests appreciating the friendly and welcoming hosts, Sue and Myles. The property is dog-friendly, offering a secure garden and paddock, and is well-located for exploring local attractions. Guests have enjoyed the cosy comfort, the thoughtful welcome packs, and the property's cleanliness, although some noted Wi-Fi issues and a need for minor improvements.

Guests that stayed at this property said

Reviews consistently mention the property being clean and tidy, with only one mention of a dog odour which suggests the need for a deep clean. Overall, the high level of cleanliness is frequently commended.

The location is described as peaceful, rural, and convenient for exploring Somerset, with good road links. However, one review mentioned it being very remote and another noted the need for a car to reach the town, slightly affecting the score.

Guests find the cottage cosy and comfortable, with a powerful shower and comfortable seating in the garden. There are a few mentions of inadequate heating and bedding, which suggests room for improvement in comfort during colder months.

Facilities such as Wi-Fi, a secure dog paddock, and a well-equipped kitchen are appreciated, but some guests reported Wi-Fi connectivity issues and a desire for more kitchen storage and a pedal bin, indicating some areas for maintenance and upgrades.

Many guests mention receiving a warm welcome with thoughtful welcome packs, including treats for both guests and dogs. It should be noted that while these gestures are highly appreciated, such extras are subject to change and may not be guaranteed for every stay.

Ideal for dog owners with the exclusive use of a large fenced paddock in addition to the cottage garden. We very much enjoyed our stay , it had the amenities we required and will book to return.
