About this property

Settled within the delightful rural outskirts of Llanrhaeadr-Ym-Mochnant is this charming former chapel, Ty Capel. Nowadays offering a family of four a chance to enjoy the delights of mid-Wales, this detached cottage is within reach of a host of attractions like watersports at Lake Vyrnwy and the glorious Chirk Castle and grounds. Head inside the warmth of this stone-built dwelling and come to the boot room, where a church pew echoing the history of the property awaits you to perch on while you take off your boots from a refreshing walk. Discover the bathroom leading off from here too, offering a lovely space to freshen up with a bath and a shower over. Come through the traditional wooden door into the open-plan living and dining room, notice the sweet floral settee and contemporary cream sofas providing somewhere tranquil to settle down on a quiet evening before the wall-mounted TV. Light the woodburning stove before gathering at the dining table for your evening meal, discuss your plans for your trip over some wine or get out a board game brought from home for some family fun with the children after you've eaten. A simple and bright kitchen houses a host of appliances including an electric oven and hob, a microwave, and a fridge, whilst a dishwasher offers an easy clean up! Enjoy preparing dinner, then head outside while it simmers to the rear of the property where a delightful table and chairs await you to relax with some nibbles and drinks. Discover two wonderful bedrooms with a mix of some modern and some classic style furnishings, the first room being a double with a blue theme, whilst the twin room enjoys pretty pink bed spreads. For a lovely day out nearby discover the breath-taking waterfall, Pistyll Rhaeadr, a 240-foot mountain waterfall, access it by a scenic woodland footpath and afterwards delight in some tea and cake in the quaint tea rooms. The fabulous medieval and extremely grand Chirk Castle, run by the National Trust, is a great place to explore with 18th century apartments and rooms with suits of armour, as well as beautifully kept gardens within the grounds to roam. For a day of adventures travel down to the idyllic Lake Vyrnwy where an amazing selection of activities await you; try out some watersports like kayaking or canoeing, shoot for the bulls-eye during some archery, or hire a bike from Artisans Cycle Hire near to the dam and take it easy as you take in the scenery too of this amazing setting. Sample some delicious food and drink in one of the many cafés and restaurants in the market town of Oswestry, explore the independent shops as well as weekly indoor and outdoor markets for some treasured souvenirs, and learn of the local history by visiting the Cambrian Railway Museum or the Oswestry Town Museum. For a wealth of adventure and a homely base to return to, enjoy a Welsh break at Ty Capel.

Enjoying a pleasant spot at the foot of the Berwyn Mountains, Llanrhaeadr-Ym-Mochnant rests within the Tanat Valley and is a charming village. The beautiful Lake Vyrnwy lies to the west, a haven for watersports including kayaking, canoeing, and windsurfing, whilst the Wales/England border is in the east, providing fabulous shopping and local history within the bustling town of Oswestry.
