This is the worst RR holiday home we have stayed in. It is difficult to understand how the assessors could have passed it as up to standard. The kitchen and equipment are poor - the fitting of the units is appalling. The door of the bathroom in the smaller bedroom locks one in and the toilets in both bathrooms have faulty not to say dangerous seats. The exposed brickwork has not been finished so there is a continuous dropping of brick dust everywhere which combined with the slapdash cleaning makes the whole very uncomfortable. The decor and pictures are too personal - designed - like the place - to make one feel very grateful to the owners for taking a significant sum of money for very little in return. The peacock of previous ill-repute may have gone but its spouse is still there bemoaning her lonely fate to all and at all times. The spiral staircase is dangerous and the space between the treads appears to be outside current H & S regulations - this needs checking as a matter of urgency. Very disturbing and exceptionally disappointing.

We had a very disappointing stay and are in contact with Sarah Colbourne at Rural Retreats and we hope to get a response soon.

It was good in parts and poor in others. I will submit a separate report.
