About this property

Marple Bridge 1.8 miles. Lying at the end of a quiet lane and relishing elevated views of the Derbyshire countryside and Manchester in the far distance is the stone-built barn conversion of Horsepool Cottage Barn. A superb base for a couple wanting to escape the hustle and bustle of life, this charming abode showcases easy access to a bridal way, walking trail and cycle route right from its doorstep. The property boasts ample off-road parking, however, if you prefer somewhere more secure, you also have access to a garage. Make your way inside and come across an open-plan living space with tasteful décor and exposed stonework throughout. The kitchen is home to a mixture of granite and wooden worktops for you to prepare dishes on as you admire the rural vista out of the window. Enjoy a romantic meal for two at the nearby dining table, but be prepared to be joined by an extra guest or two as the adorable cows in the neighbouring field love to come and say hello at the nearby window! After dinner, snuggle up with your partner on the sofa as you sip a glass of wine and reminisce about the wonderful time you're having together. In the evening, ascend the wooden staircase to a fabulous double room; the space is filled with natural light, thanks to its large skylight and dual-aspect windows overlooking the pretty garden and hills. After soaking up in the chic bathroom's walk-in shower, wrap yourself up in a toasty towel from the heated towel rail. The garden is a delightful spot to enjoy an alfresco lunch, before unwinding on the outdoor seating or traversing the stairs to the extensive lawn area for a leisurely stroll. The property benefits from within easy reach of a handful of pubs, including the delectable Hare & Hounds Mill Brow pub situated less than a mile away; however, make your way into Marple Bridge to access more of your amenities in one setting, from pubs to a convenience store. Spend the day in Marple and venture through the vast green spaces of Etherow Country Park and Brabyns Park. Within the village of Hayfield, you will be spoilt for choice by the selection of pubs and cafes that await you, as well as a village shop for picking up any essentials. New Mills is home to the fabulous attractions of Torr Vale Mill and The Torrs Riverside Park, along with being near the quaint Watford Lodge Nature Reserve; all make for a great outing for you and your partner! Travel into the Peak District National Park and try your hand at climbing Kinder Low and Scout, before taking in the views at Kinder Downfall and Mermaid's Pond; why not embark on the Jacob's Ladder hiking trail to discover the famed Woolpacks landmark? There is so much more to see in this fabulous part of Greater Manchester with the city of Manchester within easy reach and providing you with a plethora of activities; along with the delightful settlements of The Peaks, including: Buxton, Chapel-en-le-Firth, Whaley Bridge and many more waiting to be explored. For your next romantic getaway, choose Horsepool Cottage Barn.

Resting on the western edge of the Peak District National Park is the friendly village of Marple Bridge. The village enjoys easy access to the picture-postcard settlements surrounding the Peak District, whilst also being within easy reach of Manchester. Visitors can enjoy touring the village's green spaces, including the popular Etherow Country Park, before playing golf at the Marple Golf Club or enjoying a bite to eat in one of the many eateries at-hand.

Fantastic location and very peaceful. Outside area was really nice and private. Unfortunately the noise from the floorboards upstairs spiolled our experience at the cottage. Other than that it would have been perfect.
