On the western side of The Peaks, in the heart of the beautiful Moorland scenery, is the hillside market town of Leek, also referred to as "The Queen of the Moorlands." The town's lovely cobblestone market square and numerous instances of magnificent Victorian architecture, many of which bear William Morris' influence, serve as a reminder of the prosperity the area experienced when it was known as a centre of producing silk. Today, Leek has a large variety of stores, including enormous antique stores, as well as a considerable number of restaurants, a neighbourhood park, recreational opportunities, and real ale pubs. Leek is adjacent to Gawsworth Hall, Buxton Opera House, and Three Shires Head, where the counties of Cheshire, Derbyshire, and Staffordshire converge. It is also a short drive from Alton Towers.

The Cottage was well equipped and had everything we needed during our stay. Owners were very welcoming, helpful and approachable. We had a chat with both Adam and his wife who recommended few places to see around. We've met the animals that living on the farm: pigs, goats, sheeps, bunny rabbits, chickens and dogs. Our daughter loved feeding the sheep's. We will definitely be coming back in the future. Przedmojski family

The holiday cottage was surrounded by a wide variety of happy and contented animals including ducks, geese, chickens, dogs, friendly pigs, sheep and lambs - wonderful for children. The accommodation was well appointed and most utensils, including gadgets, china, glass and cutlery were provided. The large comfortable bed could be reached through steep wooden stairs and the accommodation was well insulated so it didn’t take long to heat up using an oil-filled radiator. The water was very hot and the shower over the bath actually worked! The owner was kind and accommodating and gave me a lift from Leek to the property as I didn’t have a car. I discovered that the 108 bus could be hailed from the main road at any point and the bus driver was happy to pick me up or drop me off anywhere along that road. My only concerns about the accommodation were the gas cooker, which was quite tricky to light at times, and the fact that Wi-Fi was not free, but otherwise the unfussy holiday-let was perfect for my needs and also very good value for money.

Hosts were very friendly and helpful. Cottage was perfect for two people self catering. Would not hesitate to use again and would highly recommend.
