Guests say

Holme Valley Cottage is praised for its lovely views, comfortable beds, and cosy atmosphere, with a special mention of a welcoming bottle of wine and biscuits. Some guests noted areas for improvement in cleanliness, particularly regarding pet hair and a deep clean of carpets and upholstery.

Guests have raised concerns about cleanliness, mentioning unclean cutlery, crockery, and a need for a deep clean of carpets, upholstery, and headboards. However, the beds were noted to be clean.

The location is highly praised for its brilliant views and proximity to the town and hillsides, with a lovely park and walking areas nearby.

The cottage is described as comfortable and cosy, with a gas coal effect fire and comfortable beds contributing to a good night's sleep.

Facilities are generally good with everything needed for a stay, though there are mentions of a high step difficult for elderly access and an issue with finding the switch for an outside light.

While guests appreciated the wine and biscuits, there is not enough information to assess overall thoughtfulness as a consistent offering, and it should be noted that such gifts are not guaranteed.

Lovely house with everything you could ever need. Lovely views across the valley. The step into the house is quite high and was difficult for my elderly father to get up. The washing machine drawer where the soap powder goes it was dark brown and could definitely do with a clean. Some of the crockery and cutlery wasn't clean. The bottle of wine and biscuits was a nice surprise.

The location is brilliant with amazing views of the town and hillsides. Lovely little house but some things need to happen, I hate to leave part of a bad review but if I don’t leave an honest one then the problems won’t be rectified for the next holiday let. It just wasn’t up to my cleanliness standards, it needs a good deep clean over the carpets throughout house, sofa and rug in living room my dog wouldn’t even walk on it he smelt something on it and avoided throughout our stay, throws that are in living room need good wash covered in dog hairs along with carpet.mm, and lastly hoover headboards from previous peoples hair all over them. The bed themselves were lovely and clean no problem there. Nicely decorated too, If all this is done the property would be great but it’s sadly letting it down which is a shame as it’s the little details that can make a holiday. Lovely looking garden and seating area. And ample parking at front which was great. Lovely little park with small play area for the kids opp house where there are some great walks you can go on to further a field.I would recommend this property if the little issues are sorted, hopefully my feedback is taken as positive criticism as it’s meant to be helpful.
