Pine Door Cottage in Eyam receives glowing praise for its charming character, excellent location, and cosy, homely atmosphere. Guests consistently highlight its cleanliness, well-equipped kitchen, and comfortable beds. The cottage is perfectly situated for exploring the Peak District, with local walks, pubs, and tea rooms nearby. While a few minor issues such as steep stairs, a small fridge, and occasional maintenance points are mentioned, these do not detract from the overwhelmingly positive experience. The cottage is especially appreciated for its peaceful setting and thoughtful touches, making it a favourite for many returning guests.
Cleanliness is frequently praised, with multiple guests describing the cottage as spotless, very clean, and fresh. Only one or two minor mentions of maintenance (e.g., toilet brush missing) appear, but no significant concerns about cleanliness are raised.
The location is universally lauded, with guests loving the central position in Eyam, proximity to local amenities, and easy access to walks and attractions in the Peak District. The peaceful village setting is a recurring highlight.
Guests find the cottage cosy, comfortable, and homely, with special mention of comfy beds, a warm atmosphere, and a great shower. A few note steep stairs and, in one review, slightly tired mattresses, but overall comfort is rated very highly.
The cottage is described as well-equipped, with a good kitchen, log burner, air fryer, and thoughtful extras like maps and games. Minor issues include a small fridge, steep stairs, and occasional maintenance points (e.g., loose toilet seat, out-of-date carbon monoxide detector), but these are outweighed by the positives.
Guests appreciate thoughtful touches such as decorative details, firewood provided, and the owner’s helpful communication. Some mention festive decorations and welcome calls, but please note that gifts or special extras are not guaranteed for every stay.

This cottage benefits from the village’s amenities, which includes village shops, tea rooms and a traditional pub.
The pretty cottage garden leads you straight into the spacious sitting/dining area. This room retains the original exposed beams, with the main central beam, once a ship’s mast. It has a beautiful stone floor, crisp white walls, quirky nooks and a welcoming wood burner in the original stone fireplace.
The separate charming galley kitchen has been designed and decorated to reflect the personality and character of the cottage. Its weathered stone floor, natural cream coloured shaker-style cabinets, marble effect worktop and warm rustic open wooden shelves make it a welcoming space. There is an external door that opens to the rear yard. Upstairs the master bedroom enjoys views over the neighbouring croft and Eyam Edge beyond. The second bedroom has two single beds and original stone fireplace and garden view. The bedrooms share a bright and airy family bathroom, refurbished in 2023. This room has been fitted with a large walk-in shower, white porcelain furniture and cream vanity unit with textured natural coloured tiles. You can enjoy sitting and relaxing on the patio set in the beautiful south facing cottage garden whilst watching village life pass by. Parking on the causeway in front of the cottage is possible but at busy times, you may not be able to do so. However, there is free parking available in the Miners Arms car park for guests of Pine Door (1 car). Once parked, it is a 2 minute walk back to the cottage. The outstanding beauty of this area acts as a magnet for walkers, cyclists, climbers, paragliding, fell runners and people who just come to relax and enjoy the countryside.

Pine Door is an excellent place to stay as a base for all the fabulous places to visit in the vicinity. Our only suggestion is that the back yard could be made a much nicer place to sit out in- other than that everything else was great for us !

Great week at Pinedoor. Clean, tidy and in a good location, well positioned for Bakewell and all its facilities. Weather ranged from cold and wet to very hot, but with the log fire we were nice and cosy all week. We had excellent William Morris bedding and the kichen had everything we needed for our week. Although we don't have a dog, it is dog friendly with dog bowls provided....like it!
