Well finished cottage, with decent shower and kitchen. A few points that were not so good - didn’t have the key code sent to me and I had to phone the out of hours number having got nowhere with the online chat! A coffee machine is not provided now, but is still in the details about the cottage, this needs to be changed- there is however a small cafetière provided. There are also no logs provided for the log burner, even though it is mentioned as included still…… The garden is up 20 steep steps and it messy and unkempt, which is a shame. The lounge would benefit from a couple of small side tables as I was concerned about knocking over drinks onto the rug, the bathroom could do with a stool or hook on the door so clothes didn’t end up on the floor. And the main bedroom needs a chair for the dressing table, so you can sit down whilst drying your hair. These are small points but would make the place more comfortable. The Oakhill is worth a visit and a ten minute walk from the cottage- a great setting and beautiful food.

We had to cut our holiday short only spent 2 nights there out of 7. Sofa could do with updating couldn't sit on it one side was broken kept sliding off it. When they say enclosed garden at the back. No mention of 20 concrete steps covered with rubbish. When you get up to the enclosed garden covered in weeds couldn't let the dogs in it. We book every year with yous never had a bad place but would not recommend this property to any of my friends

A beautiful cottage in a great location for exploring the area. A couple of improvements could be made as it's very hard to find using the directions given, in the end the lady in the post office came out and showed us where it is which she's obviously done before. Basically it's before you reach the pub just past the wine bar. Also it's near Cooper's cottage no 2 Scarthin is not shown on the door. A sign on the gate would alleviate the problem. Also why put the key box around the corner and not by the door? Also had to call for the key code as it wasn't sent on the day. Keycodes are usually sent at least a week before why wait until the day? Aside from that we had a lovely few days in the area.
