When you return, two leather sofas entice you to relax with a hot brew and your favourite show on the TV. Why not catch the last of the evening sun in your private garden with outdoor seating? Afterwards, climb the stairs to make yourself at home in two lovely bedrooms with a plush grey carpet. The double looks onto the river and has a TV, and bedside lamps for night-time readers, whilst the bunk bedroom suits children or adults with a high ceiling offering plenty of space. Get ready for the day ahead in the pristine shower room with a walk-in shower room and heated towel rail to freshen up in comfort. Take a break from the kitchen and dine at the nearby Sycamore Inn in Birch Vale, whilst you'll find everything you need in the local convenience store. For attractions, you'll be spoilt for choice with The Torrs Riverside Park, New Mills Golf Club, a fishing club close by and the National Trust's impressive Lyme, a country estate featured in the Pride and Prejudice series! Stop off at Hayfield on your way into the Peak District to fuel up at a traditional inn or coffee shop, before venturing on a hike up Kinder Scout, hill-walking along Jacob's Ladder, or explore illuminated limestone caves at Blue John Cavern. You'll find the village of Castleton close by, home to the impressive ruins of the hilltop Peveril Castle and guided tours of Peak Cavern, followed by dinner at the 17th-century Ye Olde Nags Head. The spa town of Buxton is a must visit where the Buxton Opera House, Museum & Art Gallery, and the underground caves of Poole's Cavern & Buxton Country Park are brimming with local heritage. Make Bluebell Cottage your home from home on your next Peak District adventure.

New Mills is a small town in the Derbyshire Peak District, located on the border of North West Derbyshire and Cheshire. The Torrs Riverside Park ('the park beneath the town') was established in the late twentieth century as a location for enjoyment and relaxation, together with the New Mills Heritage Centre, to boost tourism in the area. The Torrs Millennium Walkway, a well-known bridge deep in the canyon, draws a large number of visitors, while Chapel en le Frith, the Capital of the Peaks, is only 5 miles distant and features a cobblestone market centre and historic old stocks.

    Very clean and comfortable.

  • John

We would also suggest a non slip mat in the shower would be handy.

  • Adam

Convenient parking, nearby shops and local walks as well as being a base for driving (or train) to places like Edale, Buxton etc. The cottage was clean, well presented and well cared for by the owner who was helpful and easy to contact. Good value and would happily book again
