Lovely small little bolthole in easy reach of lots of interesting areas and walks. The house was lovely and clean, cosy and warm to come back to after a day out! We were there some very wet days but did manage to have a cup of tea by the stream which runs alongside the property - and thrillingly we saw a Kingfisher the morning we were leaving. I imagine it's glorious to sit out in the summer! As a previous person mentioned in a review, the stairs are quite steep so something to be aware of, but there are handrails and it doesn't feel unsafe (I am a bit wobbly on foot). And we were very grateful to be able to charge our car overnight too - thank you so much! We will return if we are back in the area.

Super property in a super location. Comfortable and well equipped with just about everything you need. Great pubs close by serving lovely food and drinks, and with shops in Hartington should anything be required. A real bonus was the EV charger which was extremely well priced, thanks Simon. Excellent hosts who are there if needed but not intrusive at all. Such an idyllic location and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to family and friends.

What a beautiful setting next to the River Dove and with resident geese and a Greater Spotted Woodpecker. We enjoyed sitting outside to have a cup of tea. The owners were friendly but not obtrusive. We enjoyed seeing the working water wheel. It was great to have secure bike storage and lots of opportunities for walks and off-road cycling right on your doorstep. The local Derbyshire countryside was stunning. We enjoyed visits to Bakewell and Buxton.
