1 Primitive Mews is a cosy, well-equipped cottage in a peaceful village, ideal for couples and dog owners. Guests praise its cleanliness, welcoming atmosphere, and the bonus of private paddocks for dog walking. The location is perfect for exploring the Peak District, with scenic walks and a friendly local pub nearby. While some mention areas could benefit from updating and note occasional comfort issues, the overall experience is warm and relaxing, with thoughtful touches enhancing many stays.

Most guests found the cottage spotlessly clean and well-presented, with only a few minor issues such as some black spots around the shower and occasional lapses from previous guests. Overall, cleanliness is a strong point.

The location is highly praised for its tranquillity, beautiful surroundings, and proximity to local attractions, walks, and the village pub. Guests consistently highlight the setting as a major advantage.

The cottage is generally described as cosy and comfortable, with a spacious bedroom and warm living areas. However, some guests found the bed too hard and noted the kitchen could be cold in winter, which slightly affected comfort for a few.

Facilities are well-regarded, especially the private paddocks for dogs and well-equipped kitchen. Some areas, such as the kitchen and bathroom, are noted as a little tired or in need of updating, but overall the amenities meet guests' needs.

Many guests appreciated thoughtful touches such as welcome packs with milk and bread, though these are not guaranteed. The owners are frequently described as friendly and helpful, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere.
