Tideswell is a thriving village with pubs, a handy local Co-op shop, excellent cafes, restaurants and a traditional fish and chip shop. Tidewell is famous for ‘The Cathedral of the Peak’ (it’s rather grand church). It has a rich history and retains ancient local customs such as the annual wakes week with traditional well dressings and the carnival held on the last Saturday of June.
