There are many other lovely villages to explore such as Litton with its charming Red Lion pub and Foolow with its quaint duck pond. There are local walks to suit everyone, from the mainly flat Monsal Trail with its famous viaduct to the more adventurous peak of Kinder Scout. The historic towns of Buxton and Bakewell are also a short drive away.

Tideswell is a thriving village with pubs, a handy local Co-op shop, excellent cafes, restaurants and a traditional fish and chip shop. Tidewell is famous for ‘The Cathedral of the Peak’ (it’s rather grand church). It has a rich history and retains ancient local customs such as the annual wakes week with traditional well dressings and the carnival held on the last Saturday of June. Tideswell has a calendar of other events including the very popular Tideswell Food Festival in May, as well as Last Night of the Proms held in the church.

It is located perfectly for touring and visiting the attractions of Derbyshire ,near enough to explore Yorkshire too. Parking on the street was no problem at all. Will definitely visit again. .
