Hillcrest is a lovely detached cottage set in the tranquil village of Longnor, right in the heart of the Peak District National Park. With space for up to six guests, it’s an inviting retreat for families or friends seeking a mix of comfort, scenery and a touch of adventure. Step inside and you’ll find a bright and welcoming living room – a great spot to put your feet up after a day on the hills. There’s a TV and WiFi for entertainment, while the well-equipped kitchen has everything you need to rustle up a hearty meal, including an oven, hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, coffee maker and dishwasher.
The cottage features three comfortable bedrooms, two doubles and a twin, alongside two bathrooms, one with a roll-top bath for long soaks and another with a walk-in shower. A travel cot and highchair are also provided for families travelling with little ones. Outside, you can take in sweeping views of the surrounding hills, a perfect backdrop for your morning coffee or a quiet evening drink. On-road parking can be found close by. Longnor itself is a picturesque spot with a friendly village atmosphere. Within walking distance, you’ll find a traditional pub, a small shop and a charming craft centre. It’s a place that still feels wonderfully unhurried, the sort of village where time seems to slow down a bit.
When you fancy exploring further, Buxton is easily reached by car and offers a mix of historic architecture, gardens and caves to explore. Bakewell is another favourite nearby, famous for its pudding and riverside walks. The surrounding landscape is made for walkers, Chrome Hill and Parkhouse Hill promise breathtaking views, while family days out can be enjoyed at Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall or the Peak Wildlife Park. For a change of pace, Alton Towers is close enough for a fun-filled day trip. With its peaceful setting and plenty to discover nearby, Hillcrest offers a true taste of countryside living in one of England’s most scenic regions.
The charming Peak District village of Longnor is situated in beautiful countryside on the Staffordshire Moorlands/Derbyshire border, with the River Dove to the east and the River Manifold to the west, making an excellent touring centre. The village boasts a pub, a shop, a Post Office, a sweet shop, café tea room, fish and chip shop, and a beautiful church. The historic market square is cobbled and a scale of market charges is still posted on a board outside the market hall. Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, the Spa town of Buxton with its famous Opera House, the attractive market town of Bakewell and Alton Towers theme park are all within easy reach.
