Highstool View is located on the working farm of Rockhouse, and you are in the heart of the village of Chelmorton, offering scenic walks from the doorstep and a great pub within it. Chelmorton is located between Buxton and Bakewell, and is an idyllic base if you are wanting to explore the Peak District National Park and its landscape. The town of Buxton offers independent shops, cafés and eateries, and is home to Buxton Opera House which has weekly shows, and the Pavilion Gardens, plus the Caverns of Castleton and links into Manchester city centre. Explore Bakewell and its famous pudding shops, or take a walk down the river and a stop at Chatsworth House. There are ample activities that you can do from this fabulous and homely base.

We spent four days in the accommodation which was very comfortable and had all the usual facilities. We took our ebikes and the accomodation was especially convenient as the location was close to both the Monsal and the Tissington trails. We ate two nights in the village pub where the food was first class. There was also somewhere to store our bikes which was another plus with the accommodation. If we go back to that area I would have no hesitation in booking this accommodation again.

Cottage is in a lovely village. It is generally well equipped. It has a dishwasher but on short program pots need drying. Luckily we brought tea towels as none provided. Also fortunately we brought our own milk despite previous reviews mentioning milk left. Only a double bed although there is plenty of room for king size. These are just a few niggles about a really nice cottage. Lovely owners. Great pub in the village only a short walk away. Overall a really great holiday enhanced by the fantastic weather. Would definitely stay here again.
