Buxton is surrounded by the beautiful Derbyshire countryside and lies less than a mile from the Peak National Park. The more adventurous can enjoy cycling, rock climbing and gliding. Visit Chatsworth and Haddon Hall, and the National Trust s Hardwick Hall, all of which have starred in the BBC period dramas and historical films. And if ever you do get a yearning for the big city, there s always Manchester, just an hour away on the train.
