The village of Tideswell stands in the heart of the Peak District National Park. It has pubs, a restaurant, cafes, fish and chip shops, and sandwich shops and is surrounded by must-visit towns. Tideswell is well known for its popular Food Festival, which takes place every May. It features a wide variety of food from local suppliers, as well as stalls, cookery demonstrations and entertainment. There are excellent walking routes with rugged peaks to the north, gentle hills and dales to the south and Millers Dale just 4 miles outside the village. Mam Tor and Castleton are both within 11 miles and the popular spa town of Buxton is an 8-mile trip.

Don’t forget your bubble bath if you like a long soak after a day hiking the hills as the bathroom offers a bath, enclosed shower, and WC. There is a handy outhouse that has a washing machine, tumble dryer and space to store bikes and muddy boots.
