The charming spa town of Buxton 5.5 miles away boasts three spas, independent shops and Poole’s Cavern (6 miles), one of the finest limestone show caves in the country. Surrounded by 105 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens, culture vultures can explore the magnificent stately home of Chatsworth House or head to the grand Tudor Hall and Elizabethan gardens at Haddon Hall, both reached within 13.5 miles.
