No smoking.. As you step inside, you’ll find a modern and fully equipped kitchen, ideal for preparing meals after a day of exploring. The lounge invites you to unwind with its warm, rustic ambiance, complete with a log burner that promises snug evenings in. The conservatory, doubles as a dining room, offering a tranquil space to enjoy your meals while gazing out onto the garden, the bathroom located on the ground floor adds to the comfort of your stay. Upstairs, the master bedroom awaits with a comfortable double bed and charming dual aspect views that frame the surrounding countryside. The second bedroom features a small double bed, perfect for a peaceful night’s sleep for one. Outside, you’ll find a garden where you can relax. The cottage also offers parking for one car.
Aldwark is a small, quintessential Derbyshire village, brimming with character and surrounded by stunning landscapes. Every Saturday evening, the village hosts a pop-up ale bar, where you can mingle with the locals and enjoy a taste of the region’s finest brews. The area is crisscrossed with scenic walking trails that invite you to discover the natural beauty of the Peak District. The High Peak trail would be the closest trail route but there are others nearby such as Tissington and Monsal, all with stunning landscapes. There are many off the beaten track walks you can also explore. If you wish to explore further afield, the charming market towns of Matlock, Ashbourne, and Buxton are just a short drive away. Each town offers its own unique attractions, from the historic spa town of Buxton to the parks and shops in Matlock, Ashbourne also features the Dovedale stepping stones which make a fantastic walk. Around a 30 minute drive away I Alton Towers Theme Park if you wish to have a more activity filled day, or head to Carsington Waters where you can choose to do an 8 mile route around the reservoir or partake in water sports or bird watching. Whether you’re seeking adventure or relaxation, Rock Cottage in provides the perfect base for an unforgettable holiday experience in Derbyshire.

A cosy cottage in a quiet, secluded location yet within easy reach of local amenities and attractions. The owners, next door, were helpful and friendly but not intrusive. The cottage is well decorated and was spotlessly clean. Highly recommended with the proviso that, as the stairs are a little awkward, and the bathroom is downstairs, an older or infirm person could struggle if frequent visits to the toilet are needed in the night.

We had a wonderful break at Rock Cottage. From the moment you walk in, you know you're stay is going to be comfortable and relaxing. A modern kitchen with everything you need to cook. Bathroom kitted out with a bath and decent electric shower. Both bedrooms spacious and comfortable. Set in a quiet location with lots of local walks but not far from Buxton, Bakewell and Matlock/Matlock Bath. Our doggo loved exploring the Dales and we wouldn't hesitate to book again. Philip and Estelle fabulous hosts who show you around upon picking up the keys. Can't do enough for you. Thoroughly recommend Si, Gill and Mr Merlot

Beautifully renovated cottage, very clean and has all mod cons.In a quiet & remote location but magical to hear an owl at night. Matlock is easily accessible by car.Would highly recommend hosts.
