There's also a variety of local shops, restaurants and the Peak Village shopping centre is just down the road. Keen cyclists will enjoy this location as Rowsley Bar has been named in the top 100 climbs in Britain. Take a long walk along River Derwent which flows peacefully through the historic Rowsley. Just over three miles away from the property is the magnificent Chatsworth House, home to the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire, with tours that incorporate the Painted Hall, State Rooms and Sculpture Gallery, where you can learn about the family history. The charming market town of Bakewell is great for a day out, offering trips to Thornbridge Brewery, Bakewell Old House Museum, Haddon Hall, and Chatsworth Farmyard and Adventure Playground. Be adventurous at outdoor activity centre, Dolomite Training, where you can go climbing, caving, abseiling, mountain biking, and navigation courses. Other nearby local attractions include Caudwell's Mill Trust, Carsington Water which is a delightful spot for a picnic in the summer, Dovedale and the Tissington Trail, a 13-mile route commencing in Ashbourne. The neighbouring town of Bakewell is home to the famous Bakewell pudding which you can find locally.
